Costa Rica Fishing is a family fun experience – memories to last a lifetime! North Pacific Tours has been providing fishing, snorkeling, and surfing charters for over 13 years in the Papagayo Gulf, picking up at all the local hotels and beaches in the area. We are a legal, insured fishing company, we speak English and will never sell charters on any of the beaches. There are TWO Playa Hermosa’s in Costa Rica. North Pacific Tours is located in the province of Guanacaste, 25 minutes from the Liberia airport. Our fishing charters are inshore/coastal fishing, which means that you will always see the coastline. Depending on the action will determine what fish you target. The types of fishing options we offer are bottom/jigging, trolling, and casting. If you like to fly fish and you have your gear, the crew will take you to the best secret spots. North Pacific Tours offers full-day fishing (8 hours), Half days (5 hours), and 3/4 day (6 hours). Please book in advance because we book up!

GREAT FISHING TRIP!! Had a blast with Capt. Mauricio and his first mate!!! Not only were we perfectly accommodated from the beach of our hotel with everything needed to have a great time, Mauricio was DEAD ON THE FISH!! Scored 3 big yellow fin tuna, a big sail fish, a big Mahi Mahi, and finished the day off with some big grouper! GREAT MEMORY FOR OUR FAMILY!!

Captain Mauricio was one of the best I have ever experienced during a fishing charted. He outlined the day perfectly to start and then made sure to point stuff out throughout the day so that we got to learn the area and see a variety of wildlife.
We were able to also catch a few fish and the crew worked hard to put us on a rooster fish which we were able to accomplish. These guys dont stop working all day long. Lunch, fruit and drinks a plenty to help throughout the day also.
Lisa was also great to communicate with and they really couldn't outline the trip expectations any better. You get exactly what you expect with this trip and then some!
We unfortunately left a fit bit on the boat that fell out of a bag and had flown out of the country. Not the end of the world and we were ready to get a new one but Lisa offered to coordinate shipping through a friend traveling to the states. Really just tells you how genuine this company is.
I did a lot of research before selecting this company and was very impressed. Dont hesitate to book with them during your trip to this area!

A “HUGE” thank-you to you, Captain Mauricio and Captain Danny!
What an amazing experience I, my daughter and her husband experienced yesterday. Y’all made the winds disappear and brought out all of the wonderful ocean creatures for us to experience. From a Tortuga mother who had just laid her eggs (in addition to others swimming in the ocean) to humpback whales, eels, rays, rooster fish, dolphins and enough fish to feed us for months to come! Captain Mauricio was so obliging in answering all of our questions and taught us so much! And, he sure knew where to catch the fish! We will talk about this amazing day for years to come.
This is definitely an annual event that we will be partaking in and we all look forward to meeting up with Captain Mauricio and Don Manuel again next year.

If you want to fish the West Coast of Costa Rica, then this is your place We reserved a boat for 4 of us and the transaction was easy. They set us up on Dream Fishing with Captain Moya and is brother Jeremy. We told them we wanted to target Mahi Mahi. We caught 5 Mahi Mahi and my entire family enjoyed the trip. Catching was great but the boat was in great shape. The crew was great to work with. They brought us food and drinks. We will definitely take these guys out again. You will not go wrong.

Our guide Greivin and his brother worked hard to get us fish in every way possible. We originally set out for rooster fish, but when they weren’t cooperating, we went further out and had a blast! Even when we weren’t locked into fish, we learned a lot about Costa Rica, it’s culture, and it’s fishing. An amazing time!

Great guides!! Nice boat “ The Bahamas”. We caught a sailfish, jack creval, yellowfin tuna and a giant needlefish!. Grecian did a great job with plenty of information about the country, life and fishing!!

The entire crew (Captain Mauricio, and his two mates, Mauricio and Marcelo) were knowledgeable, courteous and did everything they could to catch fish. The entire experience was enjoyable from start to finish. They want everyone to be able to fish, and catch a fish of a lifetime!

Fun trip! The crew was on time, professional and very helpful. Part of our crew was vegetarian, and they accommodated us with no problem. The cold drinks (including adult beverages) were much appreciated! Boat and gear with great! Would definitely recommend.

How much is a Costa Rican fishing license? Can you get a license for just one day?

The license cost was $15 per person. It is not for one day - I think it covered 7 days (which, if for some reason, your charter were to postpone due to weather - which is rare, you are still covered).

Hello joe, our half day trips are 5 hours $400 and full days are $600 8 hours. We supply everything needed except fishing licenses, two coolers - one for catch and the other will have cold drinks. Lunch is provided on our full days. You can read more on our website northpacifictours.

Hello, I just saw that you had posted a question. So sorry for not seeing it earlier. Our prices are for the boat- not per person. We can pick you up at the beach of secrets hotel. I would recommend booking in advance so you can go out the day that works for you best. We normally are very busy for the month of December.

What fish species are available in early December I will be there early December
Hello Carl, This is lisa from North Pacific Tours. I was having problems logging in and had to use another account to answer this question. Right now they are catching (and releasing) Roosters. In addition they have been getting jacks and bottom fishing for snapper and grouper.
