Our trip with Flamingo sportfishing was @&#*:)! Awesome! Erika picked us up with a smile early and in no time we were out on the Pacific surrounded by schools of jumping yellowfin tuna and dolphins, absolutely unbelievable. With the knowledge of Capitan Warner and his mate Eduardo we consistently caught fish all day long, unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend. Pura Vida 🤟

My Wife and I had a wonderful 3/4 day trip with Capt Warner and deckhands Chilotte and Edwin! We landed 6 Mahi and connected with a few others to include a sail fish that we had on for a few moments. The action was steady all day long and the crew took very good care of us. We were very satisfied with everything about our trip and loved getting to know the crew. If you are looking for recommendation for a good charter (this is coming from an Alaskan fisherman), I highlight recommend these guys. They served us food and beverages and kept us comfortable all day long. Their knowledge of the area and the techniques to catch fish were impressive. It seemed to me that our boat was hooking up with fish when the other boats weren’t. Ill definitely be back and recommend these guys to all my Friends!

Our 1/2 spent on the Guerrero was the best excursion we have had while in Costa Rica. Everything was more than we could have expected. We live on the water and fishing is something we do often but this trip showed us just what a special place Costa Rica is. We caught 3 Roster fish, 10 Bonita fish, and 1 large barracuda. The captain and mate, Warner and Miguel, were an amazing team that tended to our every need…beautiful fruit display, snacks galore and drinks for everyone. Both crew members spoke great English which added to a memorable experience. I highly recommend booking a trip with this amazing crew!

Erika and her team are amazing! My family of 4 signed up for a 2/3 day fishing and we went right to it. Warner, Juan and Nesmer (sorry about spelling) were so wonderful. We went out a little over an hour and the fish were everywhere. We caught more tuna than we could possibly eat. Nesmer prepared sashimi and it was like nothing I’ve ever tasted. Unfortunately, the swells made my daughter very sick, but the guys were so good about helping her feel better. We asked to return a little early because of my daughter and my son and husband were exhausted from bringing in so many fish, and to our surprise, Erika was waiting on shore to make sure not thing was wrong. She had her precious baby in tow and just wanted to make sure we didn’t come back early because of something else. Please book with them. You will not regret it for a second!!!

Fish, Fish, Fish!!!! They know where to find the fish and are great to spend the day with. Erica picked us up at the W resort right on time and took us the short drive to the boat. Captain Warner and Miguel were great hosts and expert fishermen. The highlight of our trip was reeling in this huge Mahi Mahi. We caught another Mahi Mahi and 10 nice Yellow Tails. Miguel filleted it all for us and then we feasted back at the hotel. We also saw sea turtles, dolphins, and flying stingrays. What a great day!!

Trip was okay. Our teens got very bored. The workers didn’t make it very interactive at all. They held the poles and didn’t really talk to us much. Five of the six fish we caught were just bait fish. Not great considering the cost.

Traveled to Tamarindo with 3 of my buddies for fishing. Booked the Spartacus fishing boat with Flamingo SportFishing. Showed up in the morning to Playa Flamingo on got on board the Spartacus via a dingy. The very first thing I did when I got on the boat was to inform the captain we would like to focus on Marlin and Rooster fish for the day. The captain said no problem, we would start with Marlin and work our way back in for Rooster. We went out for about 1 hour and started to fish. Slow at first, but then got 2 Mahi Mahi on the lines and landed one of them. We then proceeded to land ~15 or so yellow fin tuna. That brought us to about noon. I went and talked to the captain and told him we would like to head back in to focus on Rooster fish since the Marlin were not biting. The captain said "NO". I asked why, and he replied, there was not enough time. I informed him we had the boat for another 4 hours and Rooster fishing occurred closer to shore. He said he would not do it, but we could come back tomorrow to Rooster Fish. I was furious. We argued for a little bit, but he refused to go inshore to rooster fish. I told him to pull the lines in and take us to shore, we were getting off of the boat. I suspect he thought he was going to keep all of the tuna we caught and be able to sell it later, so he wanted to keep catching tuna. We got back to shore, I took all of the tuna and Mahi Mahi we had caught and did not tip the captain. He was pissed and as soon as we got off the boat, he sped away making a huge wake in the area with all the other boats. On a side note, the boat was pretty nice, nothing special. The deck hands were awesome guys and worked their butts off. The made us lunch and had drinks for us all day, and were amazing at pulling in fish and cleaning them. It was unfortunate that the captain ruined the trip with his crappy attitude. I will not be returning to fish with Flamingo Sportfishing ever again unless they can guarantee it is with a different captain. I have never had this bad of an experience while charter fishing and I've been a bunch of times.

We booked at short notice for two of us to do a 3/4 day offshore fishing for the following day. We called Flamingo direct & Erica was very helpful about arrangements & warned us that the bill fish hadn't been biting lately. We booked anyway.... how often do you get a chance to go Marlin fishing in Costa Rica?!
We were met at the boat ramp by Captain Eduardo & Mate Franky & motored 20 or so miles offshore. The Cala Luna is perfect for a day's fishing with plenty of shade, a toilet & a sound system.
The day was great from there on in; we caught a number of Bonitos, some of which became bait but most of which were too large whilst watching other boats around us hook up to a Marlin & a Sailfish, both jumping close enough to make us jealous but then it was our turn.
We had a Marlin hassle one of our attractors & another take one of our baits & make sure it was clean out of the water so we could watch it spit the bait out!
Then another take which we hooked this time before being snapped-up.
Then at around midday we hooked into a monster Marlin - or at least we'd like to think so - which we played between the four of us on the boat in turn for well over two hours. We all showed signs of fatigue .... the fish didn't. We chased it round the Pacific for miles & miles in all directions before the line eventually snapped. And that's why they call it fishing & not catching! It was a surreal experience with a mixture of 80s hits on the sound system while we did battle!
Eduardo & Franky made a fantastic team. Franky has 25 years in sport fishing around Central America & it showed in the way the two of them worked together, especially when the big one was on the hook & giving us the run around.
We have caught more fish than today in other parts of the world but never had a better on-board experience. Hooking & seeing big Marlin obviously makes all the difference but the whole Flamingo Sportfishing experience could not have been better, we will definitely use them again if we come back to this part of the world (from the UK) & we would certainly recommend them to anyone who is struggling to choose between the many boats available, as we were this time yesterday.
The only warning is that this is not fishing for lightweights; we have caught tuna to 350lbs but this was much harder work during the fight so not recommended for a day out with the kids (mine is 20 years old & he's still hurting now!)
Happy fishing!!

I had really high hopes for this excursion as the reviews were really good - but I was highly disappointed and am sad to say I won’t recommend them.

The captain can’t control the weather or if the fish bite - this I know. However, if he knows the winds are going to be strong and the swells are to be 4-6 ft he should either cancel the trip or recommend we stay inshore.

We booked a 3/4 day trip... went out in pretty rough waters, trolled for 3 hours with not a single bite!! Then was told our time is up we are going back. We were given the option to extend our time and make it a full day - but why with not a single bite or show of any fish.

Again - the weather isn’t their fault, but if they had done their research (like looked at the forecast) and saw what the ocean was going to be like they would have known the fish probably weren’t going to be biting in those conditions. Yes - we could have done that, but that’s what we were paying them to do. They know this area better than we do so we trusted them and shouldn’t have. I really feel like they knew the chances were unlikely we’d catch anything and just didn’t care- that was the most expensive boat ride we’ve ever taken.

We booked our morning trip directly and Erika made it very easy. Our 4 hour trip was perfect. The boat was very clean and easily accommodated the four of us, the bathroom was a must for us. Eddie the first mate was awesome. Great guys! Knowledgeable fisherman, very friendly and funny. The drinks and snacks were refreshing. The fishing was very good. Right away we caught tuna. And than a Manta Ray gave us a fun fight for about 40 minutes. Out captain cruised and circled to various locations. In all we caught and released 4 tuna, 3 Needle fish, Manta Ray, and the highlight of our day a Rooster fish.
