Rich and Angelo are awesome instructors! They were super nice, attentive, and always had great advice. I had never been surfing before and honestly I wasn't sure if I would even be able to get up on my own. But when we started and I got my first wave with some help from Angelo, that all faded away. I wasn't... More

My 12 year old daughter was reluctant to try surfing, but we are really glad we signed up with Rich and Sigrid for her first time out. She had a blast and we were really impressed with the kindness and enthusiasm of the owners. If you can swing it, the semi-private option is nice as you have an instructor devoted... More

Sigrid picked our crew of 5 early 20somethings on time and had a constant smile. One of the group members was special needs and they were amazing with him. Had a great time and felt very safe. Playa Grande a much better place to learn than Tamarindo because it's not crazy busy.

First off, I rarely leave reviews. I booked with Point Break by pure chance and after the amazing service they provided, want to save others the disappointment of booking elsewhere. Rich, Sigrid, and their team were prompt with responding, flexible on the pace of the lessons, and ensured all members of the group (surfers and non-surfers) were taken care of... More

From the moment Sigrid picked us up at our Villa in Playa Flamingo, until we departed from a cool little surf shop just outside of the Playa Grande beach- everything was top notch. We had 3 first timers and 2 others in the party who had only surfed one other time. The skill set, the patience, and the overall professionalism... More

Four of us did lessons with Carlos and Oscar: my boys (9,13, and 15) were surfing early and well and I managed to get up on the board (hooray). It was a great experience and the tema at Point Break were super helpful with everything!!!!

I have been surfing before but it was a few years back, so basically I was starting all over again very rusty. I decide I needed a refresher course and I was not disappointed in taking it. Upon meeting owners Rich and Sigrid and surf instructor Angelo they had me confident with what board I needed and excited about getting... More

When we planned our trip to Costa Rica, surfing was at the top of our list of things to do. Rich and Sigrid were recommended by a friend and they were awesome! I had never surfed before and after a quick lesson on the beach from Angelo I got up on my first wave! We had such a great time... More
