A wonderful way to spend the afternoon with friends! Our Captain was on time, knowledgeable and made us all feel safe on the water. We chose the snorkeling, fishing and paddle boarding. We feasted on fresh fruit beautifully displayed and yummy banana bread. I would recommend the afternoon sail so you can catch the gorgeous sunset. Well worth the money spent.

Jaume and Chris hosted us today for a 4 hour boat ride. The sea is beautiful, snorkeling, paddle boarding and my 15yo son loved tubing from the back of the boat. It was a wonderful time. They did a beautiful job of making it fun for a three generations of people- ages 15-72. The food was delicious and mostly they are just lovely men who are great hosts. Thanks to you both for that gift of an experience!

I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Jaume and Gollo!! This was such a magical trip! During the booking process Jaume was very responsive and helpful which always makes me feel better. Then when we arrived he was so friendly and helpful and the boat was really clean and well kept. He made sure safety was discussed before we left the harbor. Gollo the captain was great and kept the boat slow and steady which was great for my young daughter and older mother in law. Within ten minutes of being out on the water we saw dolphins!! Then about 10 minutes later we got to experience a humpback calf playing in the shallows with its mother. It was incredible!! After that Jaume and Gollo took us to this great little secluded cove where my 6 year old daughter was able to snorkel for the first time!! There were tons of fish. And the ocean was so calm. Jaume showed us a bunch of cool animals and was always close by in the water with a safety float which made me as a father always feel safe with my family. After we snorkeled and did some stand up paddle, we took a slow cruise back to harbor enjoying the fresh fruit and homemade banana bread provided. This was such an amazing experience. It really is true… LIFE IS BETTER AT SEA!!!

Jaume and the Life is Better at Sea team is amazing! He was so responsive over email when I had questions about the trips and made it easy to book and find him once we arrived in Costa Rica. He met us on the beach with a huge smile and ushered us onboard. He had fins and masks waiting for us so all 8 of us could snorkel. Jaume offered fishing as an activity and helped us catch a couple of fish on the way to the cove. Here is the crazy thing: when removing the second fish from the line, the 7cm hook ended up in Jaume's thumb and YET he assured us he was fine, maintained a joyful demeanor and spent the next 4 hours taking care of us. He never complained although we kept asking how he was. He stayed in the water with us when we snorkeled and held his thumb out of the water. He served us fruit and banana bread after our paddle boards. I've never seen anyone so resilient and yet so positive. He didn't want his pain to affect our trip. Incredible. After he dropped us back on shore, he went straight to urgent care and had the hook removed in time for the afternoon excursion. This guy is my hero and I would recommend this trip to any group. We were well cared for, educated about the area and wildlife and loved seeing the coastline from the water. This was worth every penny!

We did the 4 hour tour yesterday with our 4 very active kids ranging from 6-13 years old. It was AMAZING! Jim and Chris were wonderful. They truly seemed to care that we were all comfortable and enjoying ourselves. They were very kind and patient with our kids. We saw lots of dolphins and went to a beautiful secluded beach for snorkeling. We paid an extra fee to add tubing to the 4 hour tour because our kids aren’t really the “fish and chill” type—they’re looking for action at all times.
It was so worth it. The kids had an absolute blast getting dragged around on the giant tube behind the boat, and Jim and Chris were extremely attentive to making sure they were safe and having fun. The kids tubed literally until the sun was dipping below the horizon.
The food spread was delicious.
The kids rated it one of the best days of their life. ❤️

When they say 'Life is Better at Sea,' they truly mean it. Our recent snorkeling excursion with them was, hands down, the best we've ever experienced. We took my wife's parents along, and it turned out to be a day none of us will forget.
From the start, the communication with Jaume was seamless, setting the tone for a well-organized adventure. The conditions on the day of our tour were perfect - clear skies, calm waters, just right for snorkeling. But what really made our experience stand out was the hospitality. It was evident that he didn’t just run a tour; he shared a piece of their paradise with us.
The variety of activities was impressive. Whether it was snorkeling, fishing, stand-up paddling, or tubing, there was something for everyone. This versatility made the day enjoyable for our entire group, regardless of their interests or skill levels.
The little touches, like providing snacks and drinks, added to the feeling that we were being taken care of by friends, not just tour operators. It's these thoughtful gestures that set 'Life is Better at Sea' apart from the rest.

I booked a private boat day for my family (parents and adult kids) with Jaume (aka Jim) and from the first email he was responsive and a great communicator. We had tons of questions and he patiently answered them all. We wanted a bit of everything and we sure got it. Jim was so accommodating and our captain (Gallo) was great. We fished, snorkelled, relaxed on a private beach…and toured the Costa Rican ocean front. My dad even caught a Grouper! I highly recommend Jaume and Gallo for a fabulous day on the water.

Jim met us at the “Marina” which isn’t a building or a dock, but a spot on the Beach and made us feel so welcome. We paid for a private afternoon (4hours) of snorkeling and we couldn’t have enjoyed it any more. We had a 20 minute ride to the first spot near Honeymoon Beach. We stayed in the water for over an hour enjoying a variety of tropical fish. No wetsuits in January and it wasn’t too cold. Came aboard for a delicious snack of fresh, sweet Pineapple and Watermelon and chips and Corn salsa. Plenty of drinks to choose from too. Perfect!
A short boat ride to the second spot and another hour or more in calm water. We loved it. Our Captain was friendly and safe and we were in good hands. This Company does it right! Jim was in the water with us the whole time pointing out beautiful sea life. Our perfect afternoon ended with a stop to watch the sunset and yummy homemade banana bread.
You won’t be disappointed!

We had a wonderful afternoon with Jim and Alvaro. We started with snorkeling then trolled around looking at the beautiful islands and sunset. The snorkeling was great, but unfortunately we didn’t catch any fish. However, we thoroughly enjoyed just trolling around the beautiful area, spotting birds, dolphins, and a turtle. Jim was so knowledgeable about the area and wildlife as well as extremely welcoming. We were served lots of drinks and delicious snacks. We highly recommend this crew.

We had an awesome day on the water with Jaume and his captain!! They toured us around the different beaches and coves near Conchal and made sure we were comfortable and happy. Jaume was an excellent guide for snorkeling; he pointed out the various local fish and sea life. We even got to see humpback whales!! We did some paddle boarding, too. Jaume gave my kids a quick lesson and they were up and going in no time. There was a delicious spread of fresh, local fruits, drinks and homemade corn salsa. Even more impressive, he took my son's allergies into consideration and served homemade banana bread, made without dairy or nuts. Jaume went out of his way to make sure we had the best possible experience at sea!
