Nice shops but open at 10:00am , Very nice and cheaper grocery store, cheaper than closer to the beaches.

Useful selection of shops
Aug 2016 • Friends
I wouldn't drive here especially (or you will probably be disappointed like another reviewer) - but if you're passing, it's a useful place to stop. It's good to be able to park in the middle, so you can see your car whilst you wander around.

I managed to get a Costa Rican SIM from the little electronics shop in the supermarket.

The selection of food in the supermarket was reasonable.

I used the toilets - they were clean.

Perimercados Jumbo Supermarket is great, FUSION retail shoe store was not
Aug 2016 • Family
This shopping plaza is conveniently located on the way into or drive out of Liberia Airport (One of two major airports in Costa Rica).
Located in the Plaza is Perimercados Jumbo, a great chain style supermarket to stop for coffee and supplies for your Costa Rica trip. The market takes credit cards, it has a cafe and the people working there are friendly.

CAUTION!!
There is a shoe store in the plaza called "FUSION". They have a great selection and some nice looking young workers there that are quick to hustle you in. I picked out a rather expensive pair of flip flops $30 (16,800 colones). They brought my size out from the back and met me at the check out counter. A short heavy set young woman asked me if I spoke spanish. I answered "Un pocito" (A little), and brought out 20,000 colones from my wallet. She then proceeded to tell me that there is an additional 25% "tax" over the sticker price written on the flip flops. The young man standing next to her that was "helping" me, put the sandals in a Fusion logo paper bag on the counter and pushed it towards me as if concluding the sale. My apprehension to spend $30 on a cool pair of sandals was already eating at me and the mention of an additional $8 dollar "gringo tax" fortified my resolve to bail on the purchase. I made an excuse about needing to check with my wife and left.

I probably should have pressed the issue and brought in our local bi-lingual guide/driver to fight it out for me. I told him the story and he offered to help but by then I'd lost interest. This was the ONLY time in Costa Rica that I felt uncomfortable shopping in a local store. Costa Rica is a great county and the Centro Plaza is clean with plenty of parking. Just be cautious when going into Fusion.

Large City
Apr 2016 • Couples
A large city with an international airport and all of the shopping needs that you may have. It is the historical capital of the Guanacaste region. There is the Museo de Sabanero that has items from the cowboy culture. Liberia is a good location to start your visit to Costa Rica because it is only minutes from the beaches.

Very disappointing mall
Feb 2016 • Family
My husband and I rented a car to travel to Liberia from Tamarindo to get a shopping fix. I really wanted to like this mall but it was really disappointing! There is a cinema in the mall which may have made this experience better but nothing appropriate for our children was playing in English. We visited a clothing shop and Universal (a very miniature version of a Wal-Mart). Prices were comparable to North America. The food court was quite 'blah'. The only highlight was the indoor playground which we paid for our kids to use while we enjoyed a few mochaccinos. Overall, a forgettable experience.
