The Safari is amazing. Spectacular. Once in a lifetime experience.
I’ve been to similar Safari parks in the United States but never had such a hands on experience. The guide was informative and made sure to include the non Spanish speakers in the conversation, repeating information twice. The amount of interaction with the animals, and photo opportunities was unbelievable. Animal lovers should be prepared for a great experience. They recommend at least 2 bags of carrots per person ($2 each) I had 12 for myself and so I had no issues having animals in front of me at all times. You can feed the zebras, deer, giraffes, water buffaloes, camelback, longhorns, and ostriches. You also see up close the crocodiles, iguanas, antelope and wild birds.
The only bad thing is trying to get information before the visit. The website is down and phones were not answered.
We took a risk and drove to the park, to find out they are open and prices are much much lower than parks in the United States, and they do not come close this level of animal engagement.
In addition to the Safari and lunch, you can add on a waterfall, kayaking, horseback riding, and zip lining.
The Safari takes 2 hours so if you want to do everything plan on spending a good part of the day there and get there early. The park closes at 5:00pm.
There are also a number of statues around the park that just add more to the character and overall experience. I may go back one more time before flying home.
The park also has a lot of monkeys all over the park.
I would recommend this park without reservation or hesitation.

This is a wonderful outing for a family with children or seniors. You can opt out of hiking or zip-lining and basically take a safari ride where you can feed the animals. They come right up to you and the staff is great about stopping and letting you feed them .It was hot and we did not want to do any walking. Our guide Josue was wonderful taking us everywhere by jeep.We ended with a dip in the natural pool by the waterfalls. If you like more adventure you can do other activities. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us by translating tour information into English and giving us a top notch experience.

Ponderosa is certainly worth a brief drive from Liberia especially if you have kids. My kids really enjoyed feeding the Safari animals. They accommodated us holding up the next train very briefly so we wouldn’t have to wait longer, and we didn’t even have a reservation. We added the zip line for a low upcharge. It was only three lines but well worth what we paid. It was the first time for my 8 and 9 year olds and the staff made them feel comfortable and less nervous, and they got off ready to do it again! On the last line, definitely go upside down over the waterfall- muy cool!

If your a kid or and adult that has never lived on a farm or been to a good zoo you would like it. High priced and had to wait for 1 hr and 4 min. before we were picked up with a tractor and two wagons. After over forty min. waiting I asked one of the help when in the H was the wagons coming. He made a call on a two way and said they would be there in 5 min. They arrived 15 min later. The hitch pins on the tractor and wagons were loose and the road out was very rough.Wagons hammered and banged like they were falling apart.Spent about 1 hour in the lots while people fed the animals carrots. I would have just as soon watched paint dry.

We came as an excursion from Norwegian cruise lines. This trip took 2.5hours from the port in a bus. The Ponderosa had 4 different types of African animals( antelope,2 kinds of zebras, giraffes, wildebeast, in large pastures.
we were given carrots to feed the animals ,the giraffe even put his head in the truck to get the carrots ,that was cool.
we only spent 45 minutes with the animals.
overall this was a poor zoo, 4.5-5 hoursin a bus to get there.
OUR experience was poor we would tell you to save your money and do something else.

The animals were amazing but the staff.... Not so much! My husband was taking a drink from his water bottle and had to take down his mask (we were literally 3 meters away from all other humans in a completely outdoor area) during the safari tour and the guide made the whole group leave the zebra feeding immediately!!! The tour guide was just having a power trip and very rudely ruined the zebra experience for everyone over my husband's momentary removal of his mas to DRINK WATER OUTDOORS. The guide's name was Felipe. He should not be working there if he doesn't care about the enjoyment of the visitors.

I HIGHLY recommend coming here when visiting Costa Rica! The staff were extremely nice. Our tour guide Jeremy (I believe that’s his name) was interactive with everyone during the tour. This was my boyfriend and I first time doing a Safari Tour which exceeded our expectations 😍! The part also has a waterfall, kayaking, and many more to do! The price was well worth it.
**TIP: Definitely should buy the carrots that they sell to feed the animals ($2 a bag). It makes the experience even better**

We visited ponderosa park with a group of family and friends recently. The park and the cost of the admission are reasonable for what you get. However, do not spend additional money on getting their pictures service, it isn’t worth it. We signed up for it and the photos were terrible quality, plus not all of our family members were in them. Also, to our surprise, the photos were only for couple of the animals (giraffes and zebras) and not for the rest of the safari, a bit misleading when offering their photos service. You are better off taking your own photos with your phone.

Fabulous family day at ponderosa adventure park. We started with the safari and got the closest we have ever been to the animals, they provided a guide who spoke English just for our group. We reccomend buying a lot of carrots!!! Then we did the Zipline , which is 4 lines including the last one over a river and waterfall! After lunch we spent the whole afternoon by the waterfall- swimming, kayaking, catching little fish in our sand toys. We had a baby with a stroller and they drove us straight to the waterfall since we couldn't walk the stairs. Everyone in our group had the greatest day and want to come back tomorrow :)

Far too expensive for services!!!! Tubinhos is a real FARCE. The zip line is nice, but not amazing either. The safari is fun and fun, but after paying a fortune at the entrance, you still have to buy the carrots. The place is nice, but the price is exciting for the offer. I don’t recommend it at all unless I have money to put out the window.

Hola!

Hello, I have a large group coming March 29-April 3 for a company retreat, how much would it be to do the animals and the zip line?

I am a solo traveler (1 person). I only want to visit this park to see the animals. How much does it cost?

We are coming in January. Is the whole park open that time of year or are some attractions not operating? Thanks

It is close by about 39 mins max. We had a rental car and we found it easily. You pass the main city center.

So you can do it a couple of ways. I used an app to call Costa Rica directly, and they will send you an email with payment information. when I was there, it was 38 dollars for 4 activies and 12 dollars for lunch and 60 dollars for all day photo. When I was checking in at the site, some people just show up and purchased the ticket at site.
