The best view is from the main observatory which can be accessed by car. While the rest of the trails do not provide the best views of the volcano, it is definitely worth the effort if you enjoy walking in nature. We did not see...More

If you are lucky to visit the volcano on a clear day it is quite spectacular and we visited he Arenal Observatory where there is a hotel and restaurant with guided walks of the area well worth the 12 dollars entrance fee.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, especially as I we had 2 children (ages 5 and 9) with us. While we did not see much in the way of animals, the hike was very relaxing and a good experience for all. We hiked to...More

Took a tour to Arenal Volcano hike in the afternoon session. The walk itself is not really difficult. This volcano hike is not on the Volcano itself. It's only to the viewport. Along the path, we saw few snakes and passed by filming location of...More

Hiked here for a morning with my girlfriend. Fun little hike up to the lava flow trail and the lookout (mirador, trail unlabeled but marked with yellow markers). You can also walk to the Ceiba tree which is gigantic and has survived numerous eruptions from...More

I went to the viewpoint as part of a tour. It initially was hidden from view from fog but it cleared up for beautiful views of the volcano. If you go to Fortuna it’s worth a stop to look at.
