Great place! Perfect for a lazy afternoon, just to lay in the hills and enjoy the view. You can have a picnic there too! Really romantic!

Weekends are packed... and a wonderful time to go!!
What? Why? - If you want to simply go for the scenery, then go on the weekdays. But, to experience the beautiful Tico family culture, it is a JOY to watch families enjoying their weekends together. Playing, napping, cooking, visiting... You'll get to enjoy (and envy) the locals as they enjoy sharing their beautiful country with you.
Admission is free. Let the watchie-man (guy in the safety vest) guide you a a parking spot. (Be sure to tip him when you leave. c300-c500 is good.) The check in point is simply to track tourism. Bathrooms are at the check in, left and right of the stairs. Make your way up to the top an around the fence line. Take your time. Sit and watch. Take it all in. Move to another spot. Do the same. Behold and enjoy.
TO BRING:
Insect repellent, sun screen, binoculars, camera. Blanket to lay on if you wish. Charcoal grills are available abundantly. Bring a picnic lunch or snacks if you wish. There's plenty of shade trees and water fountains. Enjoy!

A beautiful park with gardens and a great view of the valley and river. We had to show our passports to enter the park but did not have to pay. We bought coffees nearby and went to this park to enjoy the view from the top. Lots of picnic tables and bbq available and water taps.

This would be a great place to picnic. We walked around to see the valley views. Spectacular view of Orosi. I would not drive 2 hours to just see the views from here, but if you are close by definitely stop.

We stopped here as part of the Mercury holidays 'Captivating Costa Rica' tour.
It is located high on a hill (which you drive up to and park) with amazing views back over the valley with mountains framing the sweeping bend in the river below.
There are several good and paved walks such as to provide a 360 degree panorama.
Many seating areas.
So peaceful and serene.
