We were not sure what to expect, a trip to a Coffee Estate sounded like one of those things that you have to do rather than want to do when in Costa Rica. We had a somewhat bizarre journey - a trip to change tour buses and a change of guide and fellow passengers followed by a reverse trip was... More

Very interesting tour of a working plantation. Fascinating facts about the processing of coffee. Surprisingly complicated. Restaurant on site with good Costa Rican food. Added bonus of a nice butterfly garden and bonsai tree garden. Gift shop is also nice. On the way to Poas Volcano Park. Highly recommend.

I preferred the Britt Coffee tour. It was longer and more entertaining, but this one was good. I prefer the Doka coffee so was excited for the tour. The tour was honestly a let-down.

Wonderful little tour, learned more about coffee than we could have imagined. The plantation is beautiful. Tastes aplenty, and ever so accommodating tour guide.

Nice coffee farm with great insights. For us a trip to CR without seeing a coffee farm isn't a good one. So we stopped in. $22 for a 1hr tour seems a little high priced to be honest. Especially since the guide didn't really exactly went out of his way. Without permanently asking you wont get told a lot detailed... More

We had a great time visiting Costa Rica with Caravan Tours this past December. One stop was Doka Estate Coffee Tour. It was really interesting to learn how coffee grows, the history of coffee, and the process of picking, sorting, cleaning, and drying the coffee beans. Coffee is a great souvenir to bring back home. If you plan to do... More

After a beautiful bus trip winding through the Costa Rican countryside, we arrived at the Doka Estate for our coffee tour and lunch. It was raining lightly, so the guide didn't leave us outside too long, but took us to the crux of the operation - the mills and processing area. It was interesting to learn how the plant was... The tour is a perfect length, maybe an hour and a half total. Admittedly if you are not into coffee this may not be for you. Then again it was very informative in in the entire process so even if you aren't into coffee you might enjoy it. They walk through the process of grafting and growing new coffee plants... More

A lot of coffee!!! Our guide was really nice, and he explain everything about coffee!!! It's a nice place to go and understand about coffee production. There's some coffee to buy, and some souvenirs.
