Poas volcano is famous for its big crater, one of the largest of the world. You can get there for a beautiful and very scenic road and have lunch in one of the multiple restaurants in the area. A must while in Costa Rica

The view from the mirador at the Poas is simply awesome. Every time I go to Costa Rica I have to go to the Poas. It is a gorgeous park and the air is so fresh and chilly.

The nearest volcan from the town. Great atmosphere and beautiful vegetation. The trail to the blue lake creates a good feeling. The park opens at 9 am so go early because of nebline.

Look at the peak before going. If it is not in cloud, you will have a wonderful experience. If it is in cloud, do not go because the crater will be obscured.
