A nice experience. Our guide was Sergio who was awesome! Took a lot of time and effort to show us all sorts of frogs, critters, insects and of course sloths. We were so lucky to see one at feet level!
As for as all as planning, we just walked
up to the place with no reservations. Each person with a personal guide cost $50pp
Well with it! I think it was about 1.5 hr tour. We had a great time!

Very funny, accommodating and friendly tour guide who made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Norrrrrrrrlan knew lots of information about the rainforest and the local area. The food was nice and the bus driver was very safe. The hike was moderately easy but visibility was hard due to the weather so would recommend on a day with good weather.

To preface this review, I acknowledge that this tour company had nothing to do with the weather which was pouring rain for most of the day. We booked the morning volcano hike. First, we were picked up almost 30 minutes late and we were immediately brought to a mini market/ souvenir shop for a 15 stop for no clear reason, apart from generating revenue for the shops. We drove to the entrance of the hike and we had to stand for 15 minutes in a torrential downpour while the guide Edgardo purchased and put wristbands on all 15 participants. The hike itself was pretty. However at the top of the hike my friend fell onto the volcanic rock and cut her shin pretty badly. Edgardo did nothing to assist while another couple offered first aid supplies. Lunch near the base was pleasant. We then travelled to the thermal springs. Edgardo offered no guidance as to facilities, where to go, etc, rather he simply walked off and plopped himself in the springs and sat there. Most participants were ready to leave in about 20-30 minutes yet we were told we were staying an hour no matter how wet and miserable we were. I understood that one cannot control the weather, however, contingencies should be put in place when the weather doesn’t totally cooperate. Edgardo was pleasant enough but rather indifferent to the concept of customer service.

The tour is nice and includes the main touristic sights of the park, including a waterfall dip (bring a towel!), great views of the volcano and hot springs at the end. Our guide though wasn’t very engaged. We started the tour with no explanation of he history of the park or volcano, and felt pretty much like we were being walked around. He would reply to specific questions but with not much detail; e.g. the cloud forest is very different. How different? Oh, different animals, different trees. :/
Still enjoyable, but I guess you need to be lucky with the guide you are assigned.

Had an absolutely fantastic time on our tour. Usually not a big fan of yours/tour groups but because of the $45 price range we thought we should go for it. It did not disappoint! Totally worth every penny. Errol our tour guide was incredible and probably wouldn’t have been the same without his expertise and humour! Fantastic tour and highly recommended.

We were on the full day tour which began with a trip down to the La Fortuna waterfall and river. It was a beautiful spot and the guides choose the morning enabling us to avoid huge crowds. The hike up to the volcano viewing spot was next - the guides were very informative, pointing out wildlife along the way and the view of the volcano was very pretty. Lunch was very tasty with a balance of salad, your choice of meat or vegetarian option, rice and beans - lovely and balanced. After this we went to the hanging bridges which were great fun, viewing more wildlife and tested our nerve on the impressive 6 hanging bridges. Finally, we ended the day in the hot springs where the driver, Eric very kindly waited for us to finish enjoying the pools before returning us to our accommodation. Special thanks to our friendly and informative guides Hansel and Eduardo for a great time!

The tour organizers pack all busses with a mix of clients doing 1 to 4 activities a day. There is a lot of waiting around. My pick up was delayed an hour. The hike was very short and simple with too many stops. Lunch was 30 minutes late which we spent waiting at tables instead of allowing us to use the bathrooms or start changing into our bathing suits. So after lunch it was another queue to change. Then they couldn't decide who was going on what bus to the natural spring river. The bus driver poured himself and drank a shot glass of the Costa Rican alcohol. He also used his phone while driving on the narrow roads. Not the nice day I had hoped. Fortunately, I got to spend it with nice people. I recommend that people who want to actually hike not do this.

I wanted to write about this day , because me and my girlfriend had such a great time !!!
When you meet Luis you instantly know that you have met a wonderfull person.
He puts you in a place where you know you are going to have a great day.
For sure the discovery of the forest , the volcano and everything is incredible , but all the knowledge that Luis brings to you is even more fantastic. You can feel that he is passionate about his job and he shares it perfectly.
Today we’ve met this beautiful forest but we have also met someone we will never forget , so thank you Luis for this day we spent together , take care « chico » y PURA VIDA

We had an awesome time. Our tour guide Nolan was very fun and accommodating throughout each part of the tour. The tour was both fun and educational at every stop. It was great to learn about the history of La Fortuna and explore the rainforest. The day was full and I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for an experience on their trip to La Fortuna!
