To preface this review, I acknowledge that this tour company had nothing to do with the weather which was pouring rain for most of the day. We booked the morning volcano hike. First, we were picked up almost 30 minutes late and we were immediately brought to a mini market/ souvenir shop for a 15 stop for no clear reason, apart from generating revenue for the shops. We drove to the entrance of the hike and we had to stand for 15 minutes in a torrential downpour while the guide Edgardo purchased and put wristbands on all 15 participants. The hike itself was pretty. However at the top of the hike my friend fell onto the volcanic rock and cut her shin pretty badly. Edgardo did nothing to assist while another couple offered first aid supplies. Lunch near the base was pleasant. We then travelled to the thermal springs. Edgardo offered no guidance as to facilities, where to go, etc, rather he simply walked off and plopped himself in the springs and sat there. Most participants were ready to leave in about 20-30 minutes yet we were told we were staying an hour no matter how wet and miserable we were. I understood that one cannot control the weather, however, contingencies should be put in place when the weather doesn’t totally cooperate. Edgardo was pleasant enough but rather indifferent to the concept of customer service.
