Great meal
Mar 2021
We had dinner here one night during a night safari tour and the meal and service were excellent.

We started by patting out our own tortillas which was a great deal of fun. This is a family run operation and everyone gets involved including the daughter and dog.

They make a special sauce and we found it to be very good. The chicken, salad, veggie dinner was very good and we all cleaned our plates with the exception of the black beans which two of us didn't care for.

We highly recommend this place.

We went on the sugar, coffee, chocolate tour. We had a lovely time. Our tour guide was great, the samples and small meal at the end was delicious. The staff of the family owned farm is extremely kind and very knowledgable.

Amazing!

We had lunch here and it was AMAZING! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the food was unreal. Best beans and rice and chicken I have ever had. We also had delicious fresh fruit juice and the best coffee we’ve ever had. After lunch they were kind enough to let us try fresh sugar cane juice and a shot of moon shine. The moonshine was smooth and didn’t burn at all. Hosts were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and I love that they are a sustainable organic restaurant. Definitely a must do if you’re in the area.

Lunch with a view
Nov 2020 • Couples
We stopped here after a rafting tour and had the place to ourself. They brought us an authentic lunch and coffee they compressed right at the table. After lunch they showed us how to crush sugar cane and how they make moonshine. They were extremely friendly! Would definitely go back!

Beautiful location, very educational, and delicious food!

We went to Arenal Vida Campesina for a farm tour and meal and it was such a delight! Andras is an extremely knowledgable and friendly guide, teaching us about all the different plants they have on the property, their purpose and value, and how they are conscientious of the amount they harvest to make sure they do not waste any of their crops. We got to see everything including spices, fruits, coffee, vegetables, sugar cane, and many more! After the tour we did a small cooking class using many ingredients grown on the farm and enjoyed the meal on the property after cooking. Overall such a wholesome and nourishing experience! They also sell home grown coffee which is a great gift to bring back home!

Beautiful property. Very friendly staff. Hands in experience to learn about the coffee making process, chocolate/cocoa and different herbs. Had a great time learning and making sugarcane juice through the trapiche!
Our guide was funny and very knowledgeable.

Such a friendly place with deep knowledge and delicious food!
Dec 2019
We were welcomed by Andres, who is extremely knowledgeable, down to earth and friendly. He gave us the tour of the place, we made sugar cane juice, roasted and ground coffee, drank it with tasty snacks, but most importantly we enjoyed hearing from him about farm owners' and staff's appreciation of natural solutions for environmental balance and sustainability. They love nature and they love what they do!

We enjoyed our coffee tour so much that in the evening we booked our dinner with them, took taxi and came to enjoy simple but very tasty food and great company with Andres, who by the end of the evening seemed like he was our old friend. We are the family two teen sons, highly recommend this place for other visitors of different ages. We wished we booked our chocolate tour with them as well!

Beautiful and wonderfully educational tour!
Jul 2019 • Family
My two adult children and I were seeking a tour of a coffee farm that would give us a hands-on experience and Arenal Vida Campesina greatly exceeded our experience. This is a small, family-owned organic farm where they produce primarily coffee but also cacao, sugar cane, and numerous fruits and vegetables. Jose was an incredible guide, teaching us much about the growing and harvesting process as well as agri-commerce of Costa Rica. We picked and tasted along the way and also had fun making sugar cane juice and roasting coffee beans. The tour ended with a delightful coffee tasting and education about how to better appreciate coffee. This tour required walking but it was a rolling terrain. I would highly recommend it for all ages!

Fun, informative, and personal tour
Jun 2019 • Couples
We went on a coffee tour with Andres, but it turned out to be about so much more than coffee! We learned about all sorts of plants that grown in Costa Rica, which made the rest of our trip more fun when we recognized things we learned about. We even got to try a lot of plants picked right from the plant— if they were edible, we got to try it! We of course learned all about the process of picking and roasting coffee, and it ended with one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had— we bought a bag to go. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area.
