My husband and I had SO much fun on our white water rafting trip! We had never done it before, so were a little apprehensive. However, our guide was fabulous. He was very skilled and friendly, while taking our safety very seriously. We were so disappointed when it was over! The lunch after we rafted was awesome. We expected something average at best and were so surprised at how delicious it was. We highly recommend Desafio and would absolutely use them again when we return to Costa Rica.

Our guide, Francisco, took us on a walk along a path near the lake, pointing out various different birds along the way. We were very impressed with his ability to spot them and to line up his telescope for us so we could see them even more closely. We never would have seen quite the variety if we had tried to do this on our own. This was a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica.

Two Canadian families with teenagers went rappelling in the Lost Canyon for the day, in mid March 2020. The staff was really fun and attentive, the trip was well organized with great transportation and equipment. Bathrooms, change facilities and lockers all good. This activity is safe for almost all ages and abilities, although walking in the little creek will be a bit slippery. Must have good water shoes! The lunch afterwards was very very good, with ample food at the buffet in a lovely covered patio in La Fortuna. Need to add that the activity is not as difficult or dangerous as it sounds and while you are repelling you are also connected to a zip line as well and end up zipping quite a bit rather than reppelling on the way down. Was a great day, would recommend as a fun family adventure.

Osvaldo was extremely knowledgeable, patient and went above and beyond, making sure we saw things we wanted to see. He took pictures and videos for us including some through his scope. We did the hanging bridges, volcano hike and la fortuna waterfall all in one day. You have to be in reasonably good shape to do all three of these in one day so keep that in mind.
