There are many hot springs to choose from in La Fortuna. Termalitas was recommended by our hotel manager, who said it was popular with local residents. It has 10 different pools, with temperatures ranging from 35C to 50C. There’s also a cool pool for plunging after the hot ones. It’s clean and family friendly, with picnic areas and snacks available. That bathrooms and showers are clean and comfortable. At only $8.00 per person, it’s a great value!

We went on a Monday & it was empty! The pools were all very clean & our children LOVED the water slides. Very well priced too! The person in charge at our lodge said it is more of a local place & is busier on weekends. We loved our day there! Bring shampoo! They have showers for you to use at end of day :)

This is an alternative to the large, expensive spas located around Arenal that offer plush surroundings and a lunch for 80 USD a head. This is very much your fun, no thrills, locals choice where we had a relaxing hour or two. It was around 4500 per person entrance and there is some additional charges if you need lockers and towels of 2000 each. It is a prime picnic spot - with families dragging in chill boxes and taking over one of the numerous tables. There’s plenty of small cafes selling food, drink and nibbles. The pools themselves are heated at around 42 to 50 degrees C. People seem to be just relaxing in the hot water and catching up on gossip. It was iterated to you that no intra-pool public displays of affection are allowed in some signage with rather random translations. Honeymooners - you have been warned!

We really enjoyed our visit to this place, the admission price was reasonable and the place was, very clean, very nice, well designed, comfortable, private and extremally enjoyable. I am not big on places that have a lot of people running around so this was just perfect for me. I highly recommend this place!!!

We had a lovely afternoon here. It was clean & clearly popular with the locals. If we'd known we'd have brought food as this is a place where you can spend the whole day. It's very good value for money.
