This tour was AMAZING!! Our guide, Raul, made the experience phenomal. He was very informative, fun, funny, interactive and helpful!! Our driver, Jorge, also helped make the experience great. We visited and dove at the La Fortuna waterfall, hiked the base of the Arenal volcano (and learned so much history!), as well as toured the Mistico Hanging Bridges, where Raul spotted/pointed out so many wild animals we would never spotted on our own. 10/10 recommend this excursion, ask for Raul and Jorge!!

We did the hanging bridges, waterfall and volcano hike. 10/10 experience and well worth investing in so you have a guide. Valeria was so helpful, knowledgeable and engaging. We wouldn’t have seen anything without her, but she helped us see lots of different wildlife, as well as explaining all about the area and the volcano.

The experience was great, we were picked up, dropped off and given a superb lunch.

Recommend these guys for sure

JC and Will were THE BEST of our guides we had out of our 3 different excursions (not all excursions were with Green Vacations, but should have been). Knowledgeable beyond belief with their wildlife. On top of that, they answered our extensive questions about their country and language. On the hike they were patient with my husband, due to health, not able to move as fast as the rest of us. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our guided hike and authentic lunch with this company. Do not hesitate to take a tour with them.

his is a great way to see a lot of local geography/sites in Costa Rica with a great professional guide. Green Vacations is a very professional tour company. The tour bus was very clean and all the employees wore clean and neat logo shirts identifying them as our tour guides. Roy was our guide, and he was awesome. He was acutely aware of all the wildlife in the area and was very knowledgable about the local history and customs. His English was good and he was able to answer all of our questions. I would definitely recommend him.
The Hanging Bridges park was great. It is a very professionally run venue. All the paths were clean and neatly maintained. The restrooms and snack area were also spotless. It was all very nice and well worth the visit and totally safe. Roy also pointed out a lot of wildlife at the park.
Our lunch at a local restaurant in La Fortuna was also great.
This is a relatively physically demanding tour. To get to the bottom of the La Fortuna waterfall you will need to descend about 520 steps (and then climb back up)! If you have knee or hip problems, this might be a problem for you. The waterfall was spectacular.
The Arenal volcano hike is also strenuous. There are a number of primitive steps that rise anywhere from 10 to 18 inches, so again, this can be a stress on the knees. You need to be aware of this before signing up for this trip.
Overall, Green Vacations was a great tour experience! We would definitely book them again.

This was an amazing three trek tour! Great all day trip. I highly recommend you ask for Raul. He was not only fun but extremely passionate and knowledgeable everything he showed us. We even caught looks at three different species of females with their babies on them. The hanging bridges were amazing and the waterfall was majestic. I must warn you, the trek to the waterfall is 500 steps down and then back up! Pick up and drop off were great and the group was 14of us with Raul and Joel, the driver.

Juan Carlos was absolutely wonderful! He was so knowledgeable and friendly, and he made our adventure the best thing we have ever done! We did the Arenal Hike, the La Fortuna waterfall, and river safari. We had the trip of a lifetime, and Juan Carlos made it the best it could possibly be!!

The guide we had from the tour company, Alonso, was terrible. In the beginning of the tour he showed a little interest in showing us some hummingbirds. Further on it looked as he was bored. When another guide found a viper he didn't even do the effort to show it to us from the good angle as some other guides did. We payed 26 dollars for the entrance and then 35 each for the guide. Thrown away money, the part for the guide.

Hello, kaatAntwerp My name is Hector Hernandez, Coordinator of Green Vacations Costa Rica tour operation Regarding your comments , we really appreciated you taking the time and effort to provide us with some feedback, however regarding this comment, am afraid to say that we don´t have any record of your name in one of our tours, adding that we don’t have a guide name Alonso and the rate you mention dose not match with the tour price since this combo tour has a rate of Us$ 137,00 for the full day activity, please remember that when you purchase this on trip advisor its sold as a combo package and not as individual tour, so we are not sure how you came up with this prices. , this make us think that you purchase this tour through another tour operator and not Green Vacation Costa Rica. Thanks and best regards

Booked this tour for 2 for December 2018. You could actually do all three of these individually pretty easily on your own for less money; however, this was a great way to see three big attractions in one day, to not worry about finding things (good way to spend a first day in the area!), and the guide are crucial if you want to see wildlife and learn about the area.

The order of the tour varies depending on weather. We started with the hanging bridges and saw a ton of wildlife - none of which I would have seen without the guides. The guides were very patient in dealing with people on the tour with fear of heights who couldn't get across the bridges. Then went to the Fortuna waterfall, where we had time to change clothes and hike down to the falls and swim in the VERY cold water if you chose, then change back to regular clothes. Next was a nice lunch (surprise: a variation on black beans and rice!). Finally, a great and lovely hike to see Arenal mountain and the surrounding countryside. All were very manageable to anyone in OK shape.

Overall great experience. We were in the Fortuna area for 3 days so tried to experience much in a limited time. Below are the pros and cons:
Pros:
1. professional and friendly tour guide. Willing to answer any questions. One of the kid fell and hurt her knee. He offered first aid box and waited patiently for us to take care of it. One of our group is also afraid of height and he is willing to take a slower pace. We are a group of 10 people and we are guided by one guide with personal attention.
2. The hanging bridge is fun. I love the waterfall swimming opportunities. There is an adult pool and kids pool almost. Both extremely fun. We are lucky to see all fogs and clouds lifted from the Arenal volcano and the view is gorgeous.
3. Other than the first hanging bridge it does not feel over-crowded and rushed. Enough time to enjoy the place.
Cons:
1. It's A LOT of walking. The hanging bridge involves like 2hr walking. The waterfall around 500 steps and the final hike is short but fast ascending. Our four kids between the age of 10 to 13 struggle a bit to complete the third one and really felt asleep on the way back. The third one can be especially challenging if you do not have the correct footwear, is a bit senior or has other knee/hit problems. Think it's worthwhile to highlight this to families with young kids or grandparents.
2. The hanging bridge I can really do without. It's way way too touristy (well we visited during the spring break for young kids so...) and we got stuck a lot after people for sighting of a small snake or frog or for almost nothing...I would recommend to go in a much lower season or skip this entirely....
Recommendation:
1. Pack really everything you need. You need quite a lot of different things. You need quite good hiking shoes and water shoes, ideally changing clothes and dry towels.
2. Make sure your whole group can cope with one day full of physical action.

Overall great experience but need to highlight some of the challenges.

We started the tour with the hanging bridges and while the rain forest, the hanging bridges and the wildlife were amazing, the down side is the speed at which the guide did the whole loop. We could barely keep up with the guide because we stopped to take pictures. We missed a lot of the information he was giving to those who were able to keep up with him. The paved path is narrow and we passed a lot of other groups of tourists which slowed us down.
Our guide didn't have a telescope on tripod like every other guide we saw there. Was it because it was raining that day?
The waterfall was fun even if it's crowded and the little hike was great. Our guide took the time during the hike to properly give us the history of the volcano and other interesting facts about the the flora and fauna of the area. Lunch was tasty and plentiful.
