We've traveled all over the world and this was by far the best resort we've ever seen. The best part of staying at the hotel is getting much more privacy when people aren't around for the day passes. Having such a huge resort all to yourselves in the morning and evenings is so amazing. Even during the day it wasn't crowded so not too much of a difference either way to be honest. We loved exploring around the property especially at night time. It was also very fun to lay in one of the pools during the afternoon rains. Cold rain in the hot pools was a great sensation.

The rooms were huge. We had a big shower area and bathtub in between the bedroom and shower. Plenty of space to store everything. It is a pretty far walk from the rooms at the top all the way to the bottom but most of the time you're just walking from pool to pool so it's not a big deal.

Customer service was fantastic. Nearly every time we were walking around someone offered us a ride in a golf cart to our rooms. The staff were always going out of their way to help us. It made our stay that much better.

Our only complaint was the food. The breakfast was okay but the lunch and dinners were pretty bad. With as many options as they had you would think at least a few items would be good. I would rate the food a 2/10. Just eat somewhere else. That was definitely a disappointment considering how nice everything else was at the hotel. If they had better food I would rate this hotel a 5/5 but I can't in good conscience sine it was just awful and the same items every single day.

In conclusion, I still highly recommend visiting this resort for all of the amazing things they do offer just make sure you find alternatives to the food at the resort which is a disgrace.

We went there for an excursion specifically to hang out in the pools, we did not stay at the resort. So ignore any ratings related to rooms and service.

My wife and I had been to a bunch of hot sprins around the U.S. on our many road trips. They've never really impressed us, usually the smell of sulphur only allows us to enjoy the temperature of the pools for so long. Given that, we had totally ruled this out as far as excursions go.

On another excursion we asked our guide which thing would be his personal preference to recommend and he recommended the hot springs at the Baldi resort specifically. He indicated it was very beautiful and didn't smell at all. So we took him up on it and we sure were glad we did.

This place was awesome. They had 12 pools I think of varying temperatures. My favorite place was the top one where all the water enters the resort (pumped in from their underground wells, warmed by the nearby volcano) the worker there said it was about 67 degrees C. It was too hot to stand under for very long, but I enjoyed walking through it constantly to get that "ohh, so hot" followed immediately by a cooling effect.

Any ways, the pools tier downward feeding into one another, sometimes in obvious ways and other times through pumps and pipes. The tiering was interesting to see, and we just slowly made our way down through each pool. Because there were so many pools, the place was pretty quiet, most times we had the pools to ourselves which was great.

We were there during the day, our guide said that the place gets really busy at night time.

Being up in the mountains and an overcast day, it wasn't too hot outside so made for a great balance to be in hot springs in such a hot climate. Some of the pools are fully covered, all of them had areas you could catch shade if you want and some of the pools had a "cool" pool in it that you could easily bounce between to get that nice shock effect.

The main waterslide was closed when we were there, so couldn't comment on that. The one in the kids zone was open though. That thing was quick, maybe its slower for a kid, but it was pretty fun.

Aside from all that, the gardens in this place were amazing. There is lush gardens all over the place that really added to the overall presentation of it all.

The pools were all very clean as well.

The only negative I'd have about this place was that there wasn't really many spots to leave your stuff. If you are walking the pools (it's a fair distance the 12 or so pools are spread over) , you'll likely want to have your stuff move with you as you transition from pool to pool and many of them just had 1 or two benches to set stuff on. Given how empty the place was while we were there it wasn't a problem, but if it were busy I could have seen it being annoying. They have lockers you can rent to leave your stuff in, if you were like us and wanted to take pictures you'd still be bring some stuff with you from pool to pool. So having a clearer area to set your things by some of the pools could be handy.

Not as good as we expected! the stuff were not welcoming at all, didnt explainn a thing about the springs, the place and the options - just made sure to get deposite on the towles. There are no sings about the different springs and their benafits. The most shocking part was to find out that after all the hot swimming we had the water in the shower we FREAZING COLD - feels just cheap and unthoughtful!
The main dish was pretty good but the desserts were uneatable - think twice before you spend 20$ per person for this meal.

Most disgusting hotel I have ever had the displeasure to stay in. So bad we left early - room stank of sewage the food was disgusting and the place is very run down. This is not even a 2 star hotel a complete rip off for the money they charge. The breakfast was so bad I struggled to find food to eat. Don’t waste your money - this is not Pura Vida and gives Costa Rica a bad name. The hotel manager does not care he is only interested in making money.

Just sitting in Baldi buffet restaurant and have to say avoid this place. They built exclusive and beautiful resort with great attactions and hired the worst staff in Costa Rica. Rude unproffesional staff everywhere you turned in. The worst food I have ever eaten in Costa Rica. For me this place is real dissapointment and for the next time I will take my clients to geothermal spring free of charge and great and many times cheaper food in the downtown of La Fortuna!!!!

My husband I came here in the later afternoon with the half-day entry plus dinner ticket (on a Sunday). We were amazed by the different pools and the temperatures, and the pools were not crowded at all. Around 5/6 more people started coming in. The dinner was a buffet; the salad bar was pretty good with lots of veggies and various dressing options. The main course was okay; the pasta sauces were a bit watered-down but there was a variety of dishes to choose from.

After camping for a week, this was literally the best thing. Lots of pools, all felt clean and fit their descriptions. Bars are placed throughout and though a bit pricey ($10/cocktail) it still added to the experience. I recommend going all the way to top pools, that’s where the water is hottest - literally so hot I could only put my feet it. Plan to spend an entire afternoon

First I would like to start by saying im a local from Costa Rica, usually I stay in other small hotels but I wanted to try something new so I tried Baldi and what a TERRIBLE experience. Starting from the staff being rude thinking they own the place. The room is a nightmare, it does not look like the pictures, the facilities are really outdated unless you pay for a junior suite, the pillows in the regular rooms were hard and like 200 years old, i literally woke up with neck pain , i called the staff and the lady who brought “different” pillows gave me an attitude because she literally brought back more bad pillows, management or anyone seems to care. If you get a regular room I will tell you they will make you feel like a dog. We paid $300 per night for the worst room i ever stayed in my life. Not even in Nicaragua you will find such a bad hotel.... If you come to this place and pay for a standard room, prepare to go into an old and outdated room with hard pillows

We purchased day passes to Baldi and enjoyed our time immensely. We went with our 15 month old baby and our 3 year old and felt that this was an experience that we were all able to appreciate. There are many many pools, a kids area, at least 3 different swim up bars and a ton of water slides. The location is great and so many of the pools had fantastic views of the Volcano. There was a convenient locker room/changing area and towels were made available. The food was also great. We brought a life jacket and floaties for our kids which was a good call because there weren't any available at the resort.

Beautifully kept hot springs and very nice accommodation. The best part about staying there was that after a day of sight seeing we’d come back to all the day trippers leaving and be left with an almost entirely empty hot spring resort. They don’t have many rooms here so once it closes to the public you have a few hours reserved for hotel guests only. It’s just magical!
