What a great deal! My husband and I went here on our first day in la Fortuna when it poured the entire day. It was the ideal weather for hot springs! Rain cools you down and you jump back in the springs. There were so many options to choose from and a pretty cool water slide. It's long enough that you can't see the end from the top. We were always alone in our hot spring pool since there were more than enough pools for each group of people that were there. I think we paid maybe $15 USD for the day pass (no meals included since restaurant was closed). This includes all the pools, hot springs, butterfly enclosure and turtle pond which was a nice little walk. They did have the wet bar open so you could order drinks and food but we brought our own and saw others do the same. They don't close until 10pm so this can be an all day activity.

Great hot springs and horseback riding tour. We booked it together for a decent price and had a wonderful experience. The horseback riding guide (Don) was excellent and we felt incredibly safe and happy and the experience was better than we expected.

This place is awesome. we visited with the idea of spending a couple hours and stayed for 7. a wide variety of pools with different temperatures and privacy. great bar with good food and reasonable prices. very clean with large locker rooms and changing areas. Only 6000 colones each for entry (cash). for 3 people with food and drinks the whole day was less than $100

The hot springs on the campus of the Las Lagos resort offer several man-made hot springs pools with varying temperatures. When I visited, there were far too many people, and I was unable to enjoy the facilities. Everything is overpriced, although the location is beautiful and the would be more enjoyable if less crowded.

Los Cañones was recommended to us by our AirBNB guide, we had not previously heard of them. We went zip lining and had an incredible adventure with the best guides and photographer in all of Arenal! Truly a thrilling experience, and you cannot miss the Tarzan Swing! The trip came with free entry to Los Lagos, with their animal gardens, a great dinner buffet, and some decent hot springs. Well worth it!

We stayed at Los Lagos for five days and four nights. We enjoyed every morning having coffee outside on the balcony waking up as the mist moved away from the Arenal Volcano, which we could see from our room (I really miss those mornings). We tried out almost every pool on the premises and could feel the stress from our hectic lives melt away. We visited the swim up bar almost daily and couldn't help but partake in the local drinks. We didn't want to leave the relaxation that this resort offered.
But, there was more to the resort than just volcanic hot springs. For all you naturalists out there this resort has an enclosed butterfly garden, frog refuge, turtle pond, fish ponds and ant farm on the premises (the ant farm was amazing in that it housed leaf-cutter ants moving throughout this large enclosure). The iguanas and lizards move freely throughout the resort grounds so you could see them lounging by the pool too! And don't be surprised if you hear the sounds of hoof beats in the morning or early evening for the resort has a riding barn too (but the horses bed elsewhere for the night so they can be seen trotting from location to location). The birds like to visit the numerous trees on the premise (every day we spied species that were new to us).
The resort has a zipline that runs above the canopy and the rooms and for those of you with young children, they have some wickedly fun pool slides (bummed that we were too old to use them).
We would go back in a heartbeat!

Our room was up the hill and looked like a brand new apartment. Large beds, nice shower, good privacy. As a place to soak, however, it's only good if you don't really like your water hot. Even though access to the pools was included with our room, we actually considered buying a day pass at Paradise Hot Springs down the road because we had been there before and their water is nice and hot. So my rating is about a 3 for the "hot" springs and a 4.5 for the hotel room.

WOW! We loved this place so much. When booking i was nervous bc of the price but my parents had passed by it on one trip and said it looked nice so I went for it. Thank god I did because we had so much fun. The hotel itself is beautiful, our view of the volcano from the room was so pretty. The restaurant staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel staff was very attentive, any time we had an issue or needed assistance they responded very quickly. A short drive to la fortuna where there are many good places to eat.

We had a lovely time at the hot springs at Los Lagos! We made reservations through our hotel. Our visit started with a wonderful buffet lunch in one of the resorts restaurants ... wouldn't recommend dessert, but everything else was very good, and there was more than a plentiful selection. After lunch, we headed to the pools. For the most part, we stayed in the warm pools, because the day was cloudy and cool. The entire environment is laid out to create a tropical oasis, and each pool is private from the rest. The jet beds were a fantastic way to work out the kinks, and my 65 yr old husband loved the slides a couple of the pools. The resort also has a great bar right at the lowest hot pool, with food as well as drinks. The best part? All of this luxury and indulgence was one of the best hot spring values we found! We will definitely go back the next time we are in La Fortuna!

We did the horse back riding tour to Arenal and it was horrible. Why would you put 23 (!) people on horses and push them through narrow, stony and muddy paths? I had to protect my legs because all the horses were walking so close together. And when there was enough room the horses were so slow that we didn’t have any fun.

We will be getting into La Fortuna about 4:00 in the afternoon, and would like to use some hot springs that day. I am wondering if anyone knows how late we are allowed to use the hot springs if we purchase a day pass?

If I am booked to stay at Los Lagos Spa and Resort... Do I need to pay for a pass to
The hot springs?

Los Lagos has its own hot springs that you can access when staying there. Its a great resort with lots of options. You can opt for a day at one of the other hot springs in the area as well but dont think it would be necessary. And it can be costly.
If your a little more adventurous there is a place where the locals go across from the Tabacon resort its the same water filtered by the resorts and gives a more authentic experience. And its free. Ask the locals they love to share the beauty of this country.
Have a great trip
