This is the highlight of our Costa Rica trip. We had a private tour, I rode Luna and my boyfriend rode Mora, both of them were so nice to us, very kind and disciplined. We didn’t have any experience with horse ridding even thought our guide literally lead us to ride fast and it was amazing! Our tour guide was very friendly, told us interesting info about Arenal followed by pictures than also about horses and what Don Tobias are doing. We really appreciate nice behaviour of these people, we can see that they really take care about horses with love and don’t want to stress them. They love their job. We highly recommend! :))

Completely exceeded all expectations. Our guide was knowledgeable, professional and clearly had a true love and passion for his country and the horses. This was an authentic and unforgettable experience. I cannot recommend enough. So different from the typical ‘touristy’ horse tours touted around town, even driving up to the ranch you can get a feel for the charm of the place. The animals are well cared for and seemed to love their work! Thank you. Thank you. Just wow.

The best experience I’ve ever had on a guided tour ride and I’ve done many! They will exceed your expectations. I won’t say exactly what you’ll find on this ride to not spoil the adventure but every corner is a beautiful sight. Our guide Isaac was kind, knowledgeable and took the best pics of us. Definitely doing it again whenever we are back! Thank you for such a wonderful memory!

An adventure to remember! We will never forget the wonderful hospitality, lovely horses and epic views during our private two hour ride with Will. An anniversary present from my wonderful husband, who had never even let a horse never mind saddle up and rode one. He knew my love of horses was a sweet gift and was willing to try something new, and graciously Will was the most wonderful teacher and guide, the horses were incredibly well cared for and were chosen to suit everyone’s level of comfort. Will and Arturo the driver picked us up from our hotel and brought us to the stable where our horses, Pinto and Mora were already saddled and ready for the trip. We signed waivers put on helmets and I was boosted onto Pinto while Will got Tom acquainted with Mora and riding. After a brief instruction we set out on the farm. Will knew I was experienced so he let me ride, trot, canter and gallop ahead on Pinto while he made sure Mora and Tom were comfortable along the way. The scenery on the farm was wonderful, lots of cattle other horses, the valley, hills and even a lovely stop at Wills “office”. Along the way Will taught us Spanish as a patient teacher and he let us ask him a bunch of questions about wildlife, the farm and the fauna. We learned so much in the two hours. We even saw a very sleepy sloth. Will would stop whenever we needed a break, or to take pictures (he’s an EXCELLENT photographer with an iPhone), and to make us laugh. When we arrived at his “office” we were astounded at the beauty of the volcano looming in front of us. Our pictures will hang in our house for our lifetime. We crossed streams, saw a waterfall, Pinto tried to corral some cattle and Wills horse almost laid down in the river for a bath. We’re still laughing about that. When we returned to the stable we had refreshing fresh fruit, local coffee, water and delicious queso cheese made right on the farm with avocado and house made tortilla. A wonderful end to a tour that was one of the highlights of the trip. After a short drive back to the hotel we said goodbye to Will and my husband said, “I will ride horses again because of you, Will”. An incredibly high compliment from someone who had never ridden a horse. Highly recommend Don Tobias and Will. Don’t forget to tip your hard working guide. This is not a typical trail ride but rather a real memory maker.
