My rating would be very different if it only was not for the pick up “service” we booked. As we were waiting in our confirmed pick up location well in advance before the confirmed pick up time, no one showed up at all. After 20-30 minutes we called them to check if they’re on their way, so there would still be a chance to make it to the tour itself in time - on the phone we were told to walk to another location, which we found pretty odd as where they wanted us to walk was farther away from the park and the original pick up location would have been on the way anyway. So instead of showing up for us where planned they made us walk across the town in the rain. Had we not called them in the first place, the pick up simply would have not come for us. No apologies no nothing from the staff after. Neither was this pick up a complimentary service but something we paid extra for on top of the tour that was pretty pricey itself.

Amazing experience. It does make a bit of impression at first, but after the first two hops, you just enjoy the spectacular sceenery with the volcano and the lagoon views. There is a small demonstration and trial at the beginning. The crew is extremely nice and joyful and they make you feel at ease. Bring yout own go pro (they have helmets) or rent one there.

We did the full tour - guided tour of the hanging bridges, then the tram up the mountain, and then ended with the zip lines. Our guide for the hanging bridges was Andre who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great to do the tour with a guide who can not only locate things you might not see, but also explain about the things you're seeing. We saw alot of interesting plants and animals including an orange kneed tarantula with an egg sac and a milk snake, along with the amazing foliage of the cloud forest. The bridges themselves were great, the longest was almost 800ft and the highest was about 230ft up in the canopy. I don't typically like heights but really wanted to do this tour and was glad I did as I felt completely safe, and this really is a great way to see the cloud forest. Then we took the tram up the mountain, and then took a series of ziplines back down. Felt very safe in the harness, and loved that the breaking was automatic and didn't need you to reach up and pull on the pulley or anything. Some of the ziplines were pretty fast and high up, very cool. The last one was so long that they asked us to ride tandem to ensure we didn't get stuck in the middle, I think they said it was a half mile long, crazy! I was nervous I'd be scared but I wasn't, it was amazing, so so glad we did this tour. The only thing that was a little scary was the free fall bungee style jump from the final platform. They did offer to lower you down if you were scared, but if you're gonna do the zip line you might as well go all the way. Yes, I did scream a little, but once you actually jump it's actually fine, I think if I go again someday I'll be much less nervous. Our family of 4 (boys 16 and 20) had a great time here, I totally recommend it to anyone visiting Monteverde.
