Do not miss this tour! Probably one of the best tours we did in La Fortuna. We learned so much and were entertained at the same time by moving from one location to another as we followed the whole coffee and chocolate process, from plant to harvesting, processing and tasting!

Our guide, Alberto, was incredible! He had clearly been with the family who own this plantation for years, and spoke with complete confidence and authority as he gave details, facts, dates and could answer any question we had. He was also relaxed, entertaining and made sure we were all having a good time as well as learning!

Make sure you book in advance since this is a popular tour and people who turned up on spec were being turned away.

This tour was a great way to fill a morning! Our guide was David, and he was the sweetest! Very charismatic, knowledgeable, and friendly. He made the tour extremely interactive and told a variety of stories about the agricultural industry, the property, and his own life. The samples were varied and delicious—I highly recommend sea salt on your bowl of dark chocolate. We also appreciated the transparency about this particular property being used for education rather than as a functional plantation. Overall, a lovely tour!

We took this tour because we saw Dennis had great reviews. Dennis was our guide & he is fantastic! Really enjoyed this tour; Dennis is enthusiastic & hits his points about coffee & cacao succinctly ensuring everyone remembers something. The coffee we had, the sugarcane we juiced, & the different kinds of chocolate were also delicious. 11/10 would recommend this tour to everyone (and the tour/Dennis is great for kids, too!)

Thanks to North Fields for a wonderful time!

Small, la familia run location in La Fortuna and well worth the 2 hours. Young man was VERY enthusiastic ( as are All CR people) to explain and walked us thru coffee, chocolate and sugar Cane education. VERY well done and a great education. Muy Bueno.

Stopped at North Fields and they were able to get us booked for a tour right away. Cesar was the absolute best tour guide. His English is impeccable, he is extremely knowledgeable about coffee and chocolate, he is passionate about what he does, is kind, and funny. We had a wonderful time on the tour and we were able to enjoy delicious chocolate and coffee. My husband and I left with so much knowledge and appreciation for coffee and chocolate.
The price is well worth it when you think about all of the people that make sure every tour is wonderful. We could have spent the whole day there eating chocolate and drinking coffee. This is a must stop while in La Fortuna and Cesar is an amazing tour guide to have.

For everyone that likes coffee and/or chocolate, go to this tour. The enthusiastic guide David tells a lot of details and information about the history of coffee and chocolate, there are tastings and i am sure you hear things you never heard before. Also he explains the whole process that happens before a cup of coffee or a bar of chocolate is made. This trip is 100% worth going and worth its money.

This tour was not originally on our plan of must do's but I'm so glad we ended up taking the tour. Alberto was our tour guide for the two hours and he had such a passion for coffee and teaching us everything he knew. We learned so much on this tour and it ended up being one of our highlights on our trip!

I highly recommend North Field Coffee Tour.

It was a lot of fun and very educational! The tour guide was interactive and very passionate about teaching the history, production, quality, and moderation of coffee.

Also, we were educated on cacao and sugar cane.

As an added bonus, we were given tastings of coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane.

I did the tour with my friend two days ago whiöe backpacking through costa rica.
I have already did several coffee tours in tanzania, dominican republic and indonesis and this one at northfield was the best! It was very nice that you first have a walk through the plantation and then taste the coffee and the best: also various kinds of choclate and sugar cane! Our guide alberto was very kind and had a wide knowledge where we could learn a lot. Absolutely recommending this!
