This mall is quite big and has several floors. Inside, there are a lot of international brand stores and an big electronics store, which are more expensive than in our home country (Europe). There is also a Food Court. Shops for tourists are less. Only one little souvenir shop with a limited choice. And the supermarket in the basement for buying local alcohol, cocoa or coffee. It was very difficult to change money inside (Euro to local currency). But it is more a place for local people than for tourists. I think a tourist you can skip.

I needed to replace my so called waterproof binoculars after they malfunctioned during our river rafting trip. I was overjoyed when our river guide suggested the Columbia sotre in the City Mall. The mall in general had a nice parking garage, the stores were light and bright, appeared to be well stocked. The Columbia store was well stocked and had several pairs of binoculars from which to choose. My friend was able to find just the right cell phone/tablet charge for use during our trip. There appears to many food choices in the mall. A vibrant mall not far from the airport.

We came to the mall to find a nail salon and massage. There were many places you can do nails but only one place for massage (BNH Beauty Hair). We did gel pedicure and manicure and 1 hour massage each. They have only one bed so we had to take a turn, which was fine. For two it came out to be 99k colones. Cant complain. At the hotel an hour massage was going for $140.

Once you have found that parking garage and gotten into the mall it is a real treat. If is amazingly beautiful inside. The lower two floors are half parking and half small stores. The top three floors have all of the upscaled shops and stores you would expect in a large US mall. but the mall interior is almost unbelievable. The food court is also a great place to get almost any kind of fast food you would like.

If you want to go shopping near the airport this mall is exactly what you need to visit.
There is a great variety of shops and nearly all well known labels are available
There is a very big parking area and a food section if you are hungry

We did get to go to the City Mall, according to a later informant, the largest in central America. The mall was beautiful, large, clean, and friendly. From an American perspective, the mall was unique in that there were no department stores, just dozens of smaller stores. Also, interesting were the relatively large numbers of toy and children’s stores.

Ma nu high end stores, clothes, jewelry, etc. Huge food mall with fast food. best is the ferris wheel on the roof.
It would be nice if they had some better restaurants.

Another HUGE mall in San Jose! Us Americans aren't accustomed to such large places, but it's impressive to be able to get just about anything you need in one stop! My daughter was not feeling well so we stopped at a pharmacia and the lady there helped her and interestingly, you tell her how many individual pills you want and are willing to pay for, and she dispenses that many to you and rings you right up as you pay a per-pill price! There's also almost any doctor you can think of there; from dentists, optometrists, gastroenterologists, and even a cosmetic surgeon! I found good deals on home goods, but electronics (TV's, microwaves, etc,) are all much more expensive than you can purchase in US. Quite a large selection of stores ranging from budget to designer. There was a stage set up and chairs for folks to stop and listen. The musician was SO incredibly loud! We couldn't hear each other shouting, side by side! My suggestion would be to lower the sound so folks could enjoy the entertainment! Otherwise, clean and safe, but don't forget to pay for your parking before you leave the mall and don't pay for it until you're really ready as you only have 15 minutes to leave once you pay, or else expect to be charged again! :)

It was our last full day in Costa Rica, so we decided to check out the mall, looking for souvenirs or at least something from there. It is a very strange place. On the way there, you trip over the broken sidewalk and the area in general is economically depressed. Yet here is this gigantic construction, rivalling anything in North America. And almost everything was North American. There was almost no 'Costa Rican' stores. We were hoping for something more cultural. We were quite disappointed. We got tired wandering around, it was so big.

This is a lovely new mall. It has many American stores and knock offs of other American stores ( like Pink). There are a few European stores and some local. There is a very large foodcourt with many American fast food restaurants and a couple local choices.

Unless you’re stuck at the airport without much to do -I wouldn’t recommend it.
