It is amazing how much information can be displayed in a building that size. This place was very well done and informative. You will learn about the area and places in the area. Expect to spend a good hour there.

Valuable and Moving History

Very well done- a thread through history and events to fully appreciate Tuskegee. Difficult but import to learn about the infamous Tuskegee Syphilis Study as well as the civil rights struggle.

The museum is small but full of information. Our Sorority toured the museum and was very impressed with the staff as well as the displays. I would have liked to have seen more information about the childhood home of Booker T. Washington. Good place for a family to visit.

Wonderful Visit with Family!
Jul 2016
I have visited this museum almost every year since I moved to Montgomery in 2007. It continues to amaze with every visit! They continue to add more exhibits so it never gets old! I highly recommend!!!

Rich History
Jul 2015 • Solo
The Tuskegee Human & Civil Rights Multicultural Center is rich in history and is a good place for the whole family to come to see what happened not just during the Civil Rights era, but what happen through the history of Alabama even as far back as the early settlers in the state and Macon County, Tuskegee. Make sure you add this to your itinerary when you are visiting the Great State of Alabama, especially the Tuskegee area.

Small but you need to stop
Dec 2015
This is a small museum. It explains much about the area, especially the awful Syphilis study on Tuskegee men. A friendly staff took great pains to make sure visitors understood how important the museum is to the area. (Seems like it might not be open for regular hours.) If you have the opportunity, you want to stop.

This is an excellent museum that documents the history of the local area and augments the Airman and GW Carver Museums
Sep 2015
The Tuskegee Civil Rights Center focuses on the Tuskegee Experiment, early american and civil rights era. There is an excellently painted running mural that transitions history from dinosaurs to the reconstruction era. Debra Gray is the museum director and is a very knowledgeable resident of the local area as well. There is a lot of information on the medical experiments and shows the despair of the local resident who were put at risk. The south corner of the museum predominately focuses on civil rights era as it paralleled the south's efforts to end segregation. Definitely worth the efforts to travel out and see. The University is nearby so u can visit the GW Carver, Oaks and Tuskegee Airmen Museums as well.
