While traveling to Tuscumbia our group just couldn't resist stopping at the Coon Dog Cemetery. It is the only all coon dog cemetery in the country. These people are serious. It was really unique, fun/interesting to read the headstones, and to say we'd been there. If you're in the area you should definitely take the time to stop by. BTW,... More

This place is way out in the boonies but if you like dogs and want to visit an unusual spot, then go! Interesting to read some of the gravestones and see how many coon dogs are buried here. There's even a picnic pavilion if you want to have a meal out there!

Enjoying the adventure. Two hours of walking, looking and enjoying this awesome side trip. Very interesting to read the guest register. People from New Zealand, Hawaii, and more. If you love dogs, this is a meat experience.

I was very excited to visit the cemetery as all of our animals are like family, but soon after arriving we were stung several times by black fire ants. I would definitely recommend wearing tennis shoes when visiting and be careful!

We happened upon the sign for the coon dog cemetery. Who could resist? We enjoyed it. It's something different and there was more to it than you would think. I don't know if I would base a trip around it, but if you are in the area, it is a fun stop.

Long drive, but worth it. We loved reading the tombstones and taking pictures. If you walk to the right of the property will will find a trail to a natural spring in the woods.

On a rainy day we drove up the mountain to coon dog cemetery. Still a nice drive and interesting place. The markers listed the dogs credentials, awards, or other traits. There were some interesting sayings on the markers. Labor day festival every year. Definitely glad to took the time to visit.
