For someone who's looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the 30,000 students at the University of Alabama or forget the 40h workweek grind, Bowers Park offers an amazing piece of grooved hiking trail combined with a nice recreational activity of flinging saucers toward a metal encaged basket. It takes about 90minutes to go through the entire hike with a sense of purpose. Good use of Concrete tee to launch your frisbee towards the target. Best of all, FREE if you have a disc or two.

Disc golf is a great sport, an easy to learn healthy activity & the City of Tuscaloosa doesn't charge to play. All you need are a couple of discs (you can get a driver & putter @Academy for under $16 bucks. All ages & fitness levels can play, If you can throw a Disc & you like to have fun, you can play disc golf. There are 3 tees on each hole for all skill levels. The course starts w/a few open holes, then plays into the woods & uses the varied terrain & elevation changes to challenge Disc Golfers of all skill levels. All Intermediate (Red) Tees are concrete and White(Amateur) & Black (Proffesional) tees are carpeted. Good Signage makes course navigation easy. Hole 1 is directly across from the Tennis Courts and there is a Kiosk with local information. More detailed reviews can be found here: http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=92&mode=lnk
