Interesting museum, beautiful cars

Spent a couple of hours here on a Monday. Easy to navigate, lots of interesting information. Highly recommended, especially for those Benz owners.

There is nothing to see here on the weekends, so may not even be worth the stop unless you just want to see a huge building and where some of the cars are made.

We had some time to kill on a Thursday and took the chance of getting in the afternoon tour at the Mercedes-Benz plant. It worked. We did need to change our sandals for closed toe and heel shoes and put on pants. We enjoyed seeing the robots in action constructing the sedans. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and safety... On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Mercedes-Benz offers tours of its factory in Tuscaloosa, AL. Reservations are required and the tours fill up fast. (See their website for information on making a reservation). Cost? $5 per person. The 1.5 hour tour was fascinating! At the Visitors Center, you're given safety glasses and earphones for use on the plant floor. A van takes... More

The biggest plant of Mercedes Benz in the U.S. They are producing there the SUV's (GLE, GLE COUPÉ, GLS) and passenger cars (C-Class). The plant have two production buildings. One for the SUV's and the other for the C-Class. Really interesting bus tour! The bus driver was really fast!! If You are near Vance, Alabama, Birmingham or Tuscallosa. Feel free... More

The factory tour was outstanding: the tour guide was knowledgable, thorough and very interesting. The entire tour of the assembly facility was first rate. HOWEVER-- UNDERSTAND THIS: You get to the plant from the Visitor Center via a tour bus. When we got on the bus, the driver was on his cell phone and he STAYED ON THE PHONE CARRYING... More

I had to go here to get my security badge for another location. The short time I was there it seemed really clean for a manufacturing plant and security was tight.

A truly and educational tour. Guides are friendly and informed. Tours must be arranged in advance. I would go again.

Great tour. Very interesting to see how a first class, modern plant assembles an automobile. What technology. Only wish it had been longer.
