Right down the road from Orange Beach, AL you can find the most wonderful setting for music. It's a working farm where Cathe has made the time & effort to build a stage & provide a place for local & regional musical artists to play their songs. It's a small community type of situation - BYOB, BYOChair, bring a dish to share with others, make a donation to pay the artists & enjoy the music. Kids are welcome. It's a 'house party' set on the farm. Barbara & I caught a folk/Americana/blues set last weekend & enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! A lovely experience... cannot wait for the next show! (PLEASE NOTE - this is a working farm that has animals. If you are driving a BMW & are worried about parking in a pasture, or concerned about your Gucci shoes being soiled, please do not come here & then trash Blue Moon Farm on Trip Advisor. It is a farm.)

The Frog Pond at Blue Moon Farm is a new venue for songwriter's and music. It is a home that provides a stage and beautiful scenery to hear wonderful music in a very laid-back and relaxed atmosphere. The century-old farmhouse is owned by Cathe Steele and she is setting up the entertaiment. You can find Blue Moon Farm on Facebook for future information. Next event is planned for October 29th. Totally primitive camping is allowed but reservations must be made for every event as space is limited. Everyone brings food, their own libations, lawn chairs, etc.
I was there for the inaugaural evening and it was so beautiful, relaxing, and fun! Great music was provided by Grayson Capps & The Lost Cause Minstrels, Sugarcane Jane, and Andrew Duhon. The place sold out at 250 guests and a wonderful time was had. Children are welcomed -- come early and Cathe will entertain and educate your children on horses, cows, plants, trees and how to live with nature.

Laid back music venue with extremely nice people. If you want to visit, be sure to call ahead to get your name on the list, BYOB, and bring a plate of some food to share with everyone.

There is no where I would rather be on Sunday than at Bluemoon farm. The community that has built around this little stage in Silverhill is far from ordinary. The minute you walk in the door you are received by warm smiles and usually a dog or two. The Sunday Social's are reminiscent of a time gone. Young and old come together to enjoy some the most amazing singer songwriters and musicians.

Yesterday, I performed at the Frog Pond, or should I say Blue Moon Farm. The hippest, coolest, friendliest gig you could ever imagine. Now, I'm talking from a different viewpoint, I suppose, sitting on the stage facing everyone there. But let's just say this about that- Immediately one becomes friends with their neighbor while at the Frog Pond. Cathe, the host and the brains behind this beautiful setting, is committed to a human endeavor which brings people together for good music. I had a blast, and I can't wait to come back.

March 8, 2015 Seven splendid musicians/songwriters, with blues, folk, country in an outdoor venue with warm ambiance (and temperatures lol), dogs meeting new friends, an outstanding variety of foods that guests made, baklava, Irish stew, Italian, great fried chicken, corn salads, pecan pie, gooie yummy brownies, & on and on... Very nice rustic venue sort of like Big Sur, fun and earthy...great music! Thank you Cathe!

This venue is unique, comfortable, friendly and a music lover's dream. Informal sessions from some of the best performers from coast to coast, especially the Gulf coast. The food, brought by all and shared by all, is plentiful and the atmosphere is like being in a friend's back yard. Can't say enough positive about my times there!

This is the coolest place on planet earth to see a live concert. Cathi the owner has shows in the spring and fall mostly all singer-songwriter types doing a round session with 5 or more entertainers. She limits the number of people, usually 200 sometimes more. Everyone is encouraged to bring a covered dish and share a meal of the finest quality. There are lots of homemade treats, always a ton of fried chicken and deserts of every description. Bring a lawn chair, BYOB, shows usually run 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm but times vary, check the website for the weekend you want to come and write and get your name on the list. They do have rain outs, it is an old farm house and parking is in a meadow. The people are all very friendly, it reminded me of a large family reunion. I combine this with a visit to the Listening Room of Mobile on Saturday night for a weekend of blissful music. Google it "Frog Pond Social Sunday" for all the information you need. This is a short drive from Mobile, 30 minutes if I remember correctly.

This is a must for any folkie and a should do for the rest of you all. A special place where songwriters, musicians and music fans all come together in an intimate setting for a special Sunday afternoon social. It is outdoor, quaint and unique musical experience and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in the south.
