The area
Neighborhood: People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.

I have worked in this building for the last 3.5 years, and it is the only mall that re-invent itself weekly with some burst of imagination. There is a great selection of restaurants on the 3rd and 4th floor from Vietnamese to Thai, Japanese to Sichuan, Western to Korean. And, there are at least 5 cafes in the building (Starbucks, Little Bean, Vivienne Westwood Cafe, Baker & Spice and COVA)

To hunt for last minute gift ideas, check out B1 and B2. There is a Moleskin store, selection of Perfume retailers, half a floor dedicated to gift ideas, 3 florist, and a K11 collect shop that curates different things for different season.

What I also like about the mall is how it had grown into a Pop-Up destination.... the most recent pop-up stores includes Chanel Game Center, Moet Lounge and now a robotic bar at the atrium on B2.

It's quite a colorful mall to see things....

Tips. (LIKE this post if you like my post... trying to see if I am writing too much/this is useful)
1. Coffee: Choose Little Bean on B2
2. Lunch special: Try HomeThai on 4th Floor, nice lunch special
3. Something healthy: LA Pho on 4th floor, the featured Signature Pho is not bad

A great place to see artwork, shop and eat all under one space. Changing exhibitions means there is always something to see. Lots of choice for food in basement, lots of choices for coffee from the Vivienne Westwood cafe situated at the back of the VW store to my favourite, Pret a manger on the ground floor. They do lovely lunches and staff are so friendly. You can always find a gift for a special occasion in the art gift store.

for us was very difficult to find occidental food K11 offers very good options for food and beverages , good quaility and casual enviroment, i recommend this place for adults and couples , you can get a good coffe, good american steak, glass of wine, and eaven mexican food .. the art store over there are quite interesting, they also have clothe stores, but very expensive, its better to get same brand clothes in USA , K11 its located in the metro station huangpu , and you can also find more malls at the same street , i will recommend very much this place for food i spend here my birthday there

A small shopping mall in the xintiandi area. It has an art theme like the hong kong original. But the art or museum is blah.

If you have some extra time to spare, check this mall out for a different concept. Featuring art pieces, a restaurant on the upper floor growing its own veggies, interesting art decor items and cooking classes in the basement levels, we just chilled here for a couple hours at Baker & Spice for coffee, tea & cakes after looking around.

K-11 is a shopping mall in the French Concession. It is designed as a focal point for art, with plenty of exhibitions everywhere through the mall. It has several big names like Burberry on the property. There are also several restaurants on the upper floors.

This mall was somewhat disappointing. There weren't as many shops as I had hoped. Our visit was a quick in and out.

Very interesting and Creative mall. Appreciate the Urban Farming Exhibition where they showcase different types of greens. Also enjoy some creative window displays from international labels. Enjoy the basement level where they have nice scents corner and exclusive arts & crafts. Good dining restaurants on the higher floors. Went to the Thai Restaurant and love the food and interior and layout of the restaurant. Be prepared to queue during weekends.

Read about this mall a little while back and finally had a chance to go check it out. Yes, there were a lot of arty shops selling rather unique artefacts. None of them really appealed to my partner and I. So IMO...besides a lot of food, there's not much else on offer at this shopping mall.

Unfortunately, the art gallery downstairs was closed when we visited. It would've been good to have a look through. Maybe next time...

Not so big as a mall but one of the coolest ever, mixing trendy shops with art installations. The coolest shoe shop I ever saw, with huge LED screens as tables and a robot. And much else. Also, many different restaurants. Close to an area which is worth walking through.

Apparently, a visit can be hit or miss -- but our timing was perfect.

I loved it -- possibly it is my most favourite mall in all of China, not just Shanghai.
Eat, shop, learn (in any order that pleases you).
Don't miss the curated gift shop -- it's fabulous.

So glad I still have a few years on my Chinese visa -- I want to return to K11.
