It’s so wonderful to see a Mosque in the bustling city of Shanghai very easy to get to. First you must down load the Shanghai metro app works of line and is the best when in town.
Line # 10 stop yuyuan garden. Do not remember exit # but it’s on only 500-meters from metro exit.
Absolutely beautiful architecture and history was recently renovated or given. Face lift. This is the 2nd Mosque I have visited and prayed at in China.
There’s a lot of shopping close by and I am sure it’s cheaper than nanjin area.
Also posted a flyer given to me by one of the older members of a Halal Chinese tray very close to the mosque I did not visit it, thought someone would appreciate it.

I was staying at Westin Hotel and this mosque is the closest (walking distance) to the hotel. You can also take a taxi for about 14-16 RMB.
I attended the Friday prayers at the mosque and wasn't sure of the timings. So I arrived around 1pm. There was a talk for about 45 minutes before the actual khutbah (sermon). The prayer was done at around 2pm.
As mentioned by the previous reviewers, the mosque is beautiful and has elements of chinese architecture. This makes it unique compared to other mosque or masjids one would typically find in Asia or around the world. The mosque is also clean and the locals who go there are very friendly.
The mosque building itself sort of blends in the the surrounding. Make sure you identify the address or location on a map before going. Otherwise you might miss or not notice it.

Visited this mosque before going on to the Yu Gardens and was such a quiet, beautiful, peaceful mosque. A very chinese feel, mixed with traditional islamic architecture. Usually closed to non-muslims, but if you get a chance to head inside, take your time to absorb the atmosphere. Could have stayed here relaxing for much longer than I did.

We stumbled across the mosque quite by accident, as it is not plain to see from the road (see the photograph) - but were really impressed with the very down-to-earth architecture inside. They don't mind tourists wandering in to take a look, but some parts are off-limit obviously. Very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

After Yuyuan I wanted to visit this mosque but unfortunately it is under construction. Gave it 3 stars because I have no idea of the sight. Just wanted to alert fellow tourists.

Visited this masjid for Friday prayers and it absolutely blew me away. The mosque is very different in architecture from the kind I'm used to but beautiful in every aspect. Built many years ago, it retains that old feel with a beautiful facade. The outside gardens are tidy and calm. The perfect place to unwind and reflect. A diverse group of nationalities offer prayer here and it was a pleasure to be apart of so many different nationalities listening to and partaking in the prayer. The mosque itself has a small "store" where pictures of the past and items can be bought. Wonderful experience and definitely will make the time to be here again on my next visit, God willing.
