About
Founded by the Chinese-Indonesian entrepreneur Mr. Budi Tek in a hangar of the former aircraft manufacturing facility covering a total floor area of about 9,500 square meters, the Yuz Museum features a very spacious and extending layout that perfectly serves the display of Mr. Tek’s collection containing mostly installation works.

This is a waste of time and money
Dec 2019 • Couples
There is an ‘art piece’ where a man dives through a glass window and three people are laughing. I can only assume he has been told he has to visit Yuz Museum again next week! Or maybe he was told he had to eat in the Yuz cafe again! Dreadful food.
Avoid the 40 minute drive from central Shanghai at all costs.

Cool pics in rain room, but otherwise too pricy and boring
Mar 2019 • Family
We went there with my family in march 2019, and it costed 220 rmb for two adults (baby went for free). We took nice pictures in rain room, but that was all that there was to see. You can only pay for the rain room visit, so I recommend to do that.

Rain Room was Fantastic
Dec 2018 • Family
OK I would not recommend this museum unless (and that was our situation) that there is something exhibiting that you really want to see. The Rain room was why we were there. It was an unbelievable experience. The exhibit has been shown around the world so if it comes close to where you live or are going to be you MUST see and experience. It is and unforgettable experience of being in a room with a complete down pour of rain but you don't get wet. That is all I will say. Just Go.

Contemporary Art
May 2018 • Friends
The shows here are varied and usually very interesting - the curation is quite good. If you want more information about the artists, they often provide materials in both English and Chinese. I have found the shows of contemporary Chinese artists to be beautifully presented and quite informative. We usually eat at the restaurant there since the food is quite good as well.

Do not miss the Chaplin exhibition
Jul 2018 • Family
We always have a great time in this museum, one of the bests of its kind in Shanghai. Great exhibitions, good atmosphere, nice building, good caffee.

I had to think hard to find something negative, but I could manage :)
1. The website is misleading. It's written: "Separate exhibition ticket RMB 150. Access to all galleries of (here comes 2 exhibitions)". But we had to pay RMB 200 to see both exhibitions. It should be clarified that RMB 150 is one exhibition, RMB 200 both exhibitions.

2. It's written at the cashier that you can pay with Alipay or bank card. I always ask if WeChat is possible, since I am WeChat dependent, but the Chinese guy, who bought ticket before me, got very surprised and angry when he heard the cashier lady saying yes to my question.

3. Why the menu of the YUZ café is not on the website? And why is it not called restaurant? We dropped in for a caffee, at almost noon, very hungry. We were very much surprised that it's a restaurant with a lot of kinds of food and the food is actually really good. I ate a Shanghai style vegetables noodle soup, while my daughter ate a penne Carbonara. They also have Indonesian food...

And one more info: the nearest subway station is line 11, Yunjin road. Walking from the museum (less than 10 minutes) you arrive to exit 1. It's closed until April 2019, but no panic (we had a panic attack in the heavy rain, we thought we have to walk to the next subway station...) - 2 more minutes walk and you can reach the exit 2, and that's open.....

A great Charlie Chaplin exhibit
Jun 2018 • Solo
I almost decided not to enter this museum because of the price but I was drawn to the Chaplin exhibit they had advertised out front. I'm glad I did it because the exhibit really blew me away, it was excellent....and very large, I spent three hours wandering through it. But I think if I wasn't such a Chaplin fan I would not have a good impression of this museum, it really is overpriced and I'm guessing it doesn't offer much value for the money on a normal day. It's a shame because the building is nice and the location is perfect being right on the Bund.

What a joke
May 2018
150 RMB to see one exhibit that is very small? Seriously? The building is boring and is located far from anything of interest.
