Great view from the deck on the roof. Not inexpensive. The patrons are predominately westerners. Good to visit.

The music is a very random mix of everything, probably designed to "please" every one in a mixed crowd. There is an entrance fee and the drinks are quite expensive but within expectations for the location. The views over the bund are good, if you can get through the crowds on to the balcony, which may be closed after bad... More

Very nice view of the bund. There were dancers when we were there and it's mostly 95% foreigners. Drinks are around 100RMB and entrance fee was also that amount.

Bar Rouge has one of the best views overseeing the Bund. Good rooftop bar on the whole. Crowd are more on the mature side. Drinks are expensive though. But the experience was a must.

Wow !! I have been here before just to check the views looking down the river both ways and the lights of Pudong.it would be hard to find a better view anywhere although there are some great rooftops in Shanghai. Looks like the bar has had a major re furb and the setting , lights and views provide an incredible... More

Being a rooftop, Bar Rouge has one of the best views around SH. Although the drinks are expensive about 100RMB 1 beer (info from 2014), the experience was a must.

Went on a Wednesday night. Busy but not packed. Good music, good drinks, slightly snurly staff, but the view makes up for any shortfalls. Go before 11pm (several of the buildings that make the view awesome turn their lights off at 11pm, including the Pearl Tower)

Bar Rouge was a nice change from the extremely loud, crowded and smokey nightclubs around Shanghai. It has a nice open roofdeck with a great view of the Bund. The service was actually pretty prompt for a night club. The patrons were mostly expats as drinks were pretty expensive by China standards, but inline with international standards.

Staying in The Bund

Neighborhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
