Banyan Tree Spa introduced innovative spa concepts specially customised for a luxury retreat located within a city, with the opening of Banyan Tree Spa Shanghai. Known to be one of city's most opulent and spacious spas, Banyan Tree Spa Shanghai is inspired by the Chinese Five Elements concept which symbolises the life forces present in all existence on earth and are the manifestations of Yin and Yang. Featuring treatments based on traditional Chinese herbs and natural ingredients, Banyan Tree Spa Shanghai embraces the age-old Chinese philosophy of holistic healing, offering a selection of Five Element treatment packages. Banyan Tree Spa Academies are established in Bintan in Indonesia and Phuket in Thailand to train a dedicated team of Banyan Tree Spa therapists and spearhead the research and development of new treatment recipes.
