This place you have to visit 100%, right after Jujiajiao (near by). But you need to choose a day with sunny weather, and it's better to go during the weekdays, cause, in another way, there will be crowded. For whole walking around the park you'll spend at least 4 hours, there are no animals, but a lot of plants, trees, flowers etc. Also, there you can find a lot of installations that imitate ancient chinese life. Take your camera and some snacks, it will be really cool. But for kids, I guess, boring, so, it's better to letf them in the hotel ^_^

I would advise against going here. This park is meant to be a reconstruction of the fictional garden from Dream of the Red Mansions. But it's built by clumsy and unimaginative architects of Qingpu District Bureau, and so it lacks elegance and sensitivity to nature that characterize real Chinese gardens. The architecture is bulky, crude and painted with brown floor paint. The creators of this park went as far as populating the pavilions with plastic mannequins of the novel's characters; they look downright creepy. There is access to the waterside with young evergreen forest and the placid lake. The fee to get into the garden is a whopping 70 yuan! The only excuse to get out as far as this part of town is a visit to Jinze, a small and quiet water town that rarely sees any tourists.
