Delightful
Sep 2018 • Solo
We had a bird's eye view of this 21.40-acre park from our 16th-floor room at a nearby hotel. The big green area stood out in a sea of high-rises and invited a much-closer inspection. This I did many times during a week's stay.

The beautifully maintained park features a mass of tall, leafy trees that provide bountiful shade to myriad benches beneath them. Paved paths crisscross the area, but there is also an elevated walkway that allows people to get across the park quickly.

Signs in English and Chinese give information throughout the acreage about the park, which opened in 2000, replacing entities such as the Ta Chung Hue Rubber Factory. Its chimney remains and provides a gathering place in the morning for men to play traditional instruments.

The layout represents a miniature Shanghai with an artificial lake running through the park like the Huangpu River cuts through the city. Black swans waddle awkwardly on the shore or glide gracefully through the water. Residents take full advantage of what this urban oasis has to offer. I watched groups practicing tai chi in early morning and others dancing by moonlight. Some kind of activity always seems to be going on here.

For those who stay in the area, I think the park merits a stop for a pleasant respite or a lovely stroll. There is a Starbucks nearby, which is a good place to pick up a cup of coffee to enjoy in Xujiahui on a bench.

Favorite for an evening stroll
Jun 2017 • Solo
I enjoy walking through this park in the evening, to watch the many people exercise and dance. It has a nice long skywalk from which one has a good overview.

Serene and spotless!

Just another example of one of the many beautiful parks that can be found in the midst of this huge city. There is an air of peace and tranquillity as you walk around and it is really well looked after ~ no litter anywhere and all plants trimmed and looked after.

Great local park
Oct 2015
Great park, a real surprise to find such a large park in such location. If your in the area worth a visit for a stroll or some exercise.

Frequented by the locals, and loved by all 3 generations. The oldies can be found dancing mornings and evenings. There is a good playground for the young kids, and basketball courts.

Lovely trees providing shade from the hot summer sun, and pond with swans. Very well maintained, and free.

Not a destination I would suggest to spend hours traveling to, and definitely not a Shanghai 'highlight' in its on right, but nevertheless a nice place to chill for a few hours in the weekend afternoon if your based in the area.

Nice green area
Mar 2016 • Friends
Xujiahui park is a nice green area in the city at one end of Heng Shan road. At the end of the road and the park alongside is a major road intersection so the greenery is welcome.
The park is popular with locals and has walking tracks and a pond.

Lovely Park for a Walk
Jun 2015 • Friends
This park is very large and offers many paved paths for a nice stroll. I chose to traverse the park on my way to the French Concession because it was beautiful and less congested than the street sidewalks.
There are water features, an elevated walkway with nice views, plenty of benches and play areas for children. It is quite clean and surprisingly peaceful considering the number of visitors.
My husband enjoyed his morning run through the park.

Small, Clean and Green.
Oct 2014 • Couples
Its a small, nice park that is kept pretty clean. It is unique in that it is set up to mirror the actual set up of the city of Shanghai, with the Pudong river winding through it. It has signs in English and Chinese explaining the different monuments and sites. The best things to see/do are to sit at the pond and watch the black swans swim, feed the swans/koi, take a walk on the overhead bridge, and people watch. You get all types in the park, locals practicing instruments and tai chi, foreigners taking a jog. There are always people but it is not crowded. Its a wonderful place for a stroll, to read a book, paint a picture, people watch, take your children to play on the greens, open spaces and fountains. There is some traditional dancing at night.

Positives: There are several high-end restaurants in and around the park. It is clean. Relaxed atmosphere and not very noisy. No hawkers. Free entry. Signs in English and Chinese. Family friendly and good for all ages. It is in an area with many different shops, bars and restaurants.

Negatives: It is not as large as some other parks.

Possibly Favorite Shanghai Park
Nov 2013 • Friends
Shanghai has a surprisingly large number of parks, and even though it has a few that are much larger, such as Century Park or Gongqing Park, I would say that this is perhaps my favorite park within Puxi's city center. Although not as expansive, you also don't need to pay an admission fee. However, it's really well kept and the landscape architecture is really nice. There's a small pond near the entrance with a nice platform area with seating. Further within the park, there is a lot of pretty greenery and flowers and a small stream. There is also an elevated walkway that runs through a large portion of the park where you can get a nice view. All the times I've been there, it's never felt over-crowded and it has a nice serene atmosphere to it, even though it's right near four major shopping malls. It's a really pleasant place to take a break with your lunch or a book.
