The Multimedia Theatrical Spectacular 'ERA Intersection of Time' has been performed since its debut at Shanghai Circus World in September 2005. It is unique and comparable to the tradition of the Broadway Musical. It is in fact a stunning acrobatic show combining traditional Chinese arts and modern technologies. The performers present Chinese acrobatics, martial arts and dance perfectly in harmony with the music, sound, lighting, and other special effects, which include a water screen. While you marvel at the highly proficient skills of the performers, the story of China's evolution from its ancient past to the future is told. Hence, the title 'Intersection of Time', as the viewpoint of the audience is set in the present between the past and the future. The performance provides a wonderful insight into China's ancient culture and civilization, with sections about Sinan, an ancient Chinese invention for telling directions, soothsaying and conjuring. There is a fantastic section showing an acrobatic program which has elements performed since the far off days of the Han Dynasty (206BC–220AD). With porcelain jars and vats as their stage properties the performers give an overview of Chinese porcelain culture and greater understand of the country's name of 'China'.Modern achievements that are also showcased include Shanghai Donghai Cross-Sea Bridge, Maglev Train, and Shenzhou 5, China's first manned space mission. From these, you can see the amazing development and bright future of Shanghai and the whole country. The 100-minute performance shows not only artistic skills, but also creativity. Aided by multimedia including vision, original live music, sound effects, smell effect, air conditioning and lighting,

Excellent show. Worth to spend your evening in a colourful exciting manner. The show is extremely professional. Easily reachable by subway. Starts at 7:30pm till 9. As it's very famous, you should prefer to book tickets in advance.

Well worth a visit. As this was included in my trip i am not sure what the cost was. Almost in the round staging however the best views were to be had in the central section. Super entertainment.

My friend took me to this show last year and I was in shock because I have never been a fan of circuses but this one was amazing. If you have a chance to go and see if for yourself please do. Remember every seat in the house is great. Pay less not more..

I went with my family on a Friday night and the Shanghai Circus World performance was really worth the money. I recommend going for the 220 RMB tickets as the seating positions for that category of tickets is reasonably good for views of the performances, and as many other reviewers mentioned before, the venue is very easily accessible through the... I went with my friend and her two year old son. We all had a good time. The show is about an hour and a half, and has a wide variety of acts. Be warned it can get quite loud for small children. It was not hard to access via metro and a short walk. We bought our tickets at... More

We had a mistical night in Shanghai Circus World. Choose stand B for less-pricy ticket, but close to the actress. We were impressed by the cooking show in the air, which looks like nanyang show, but more interesting because it was on heights. Enjoy the show ! Thank you !

Witnessed some really awesome skill by the circus performers. Bravo! However, do not expect it to be as fancy as Cirque du Soleil.

the Venue for Era is semi circle with a circular stage which has raised platforms from time to time but I would think the views were pretty great regardless of where you sat. The acts are fantastic from acrobats, to human balancing, german wheel, juggling, Wheel of death, tumbling, plate balancing -check the website out for more details. For anyone... More

We watched ERA intersection, pleasant and memorable but it is not worth anything more than 200 Yuan per person.
