Closed, and for a good reason
Apr 2015 • Friends
This venue is closed. There were rumors of it opening again late 2015 but those seem not to have materialized. If you are going to be gimmicky and border on scary you need to make every other experience (coat check, ordering, bathroom) distinctly non-intimidating and painless. They didn't.

The worst of all three
Jan 2015 • Friends
Well done Shanghai cirque, you have successfully managed to ruin the reputation of cirque le soir. Bad experience one) the cloak room staff refused to take anymore clothes at 23:00, HELLO! it’s winter and we all happened to wear coats. Bad experience two) running out of beer at 23:30 at the bar, we all know the rent is high and you want to make profit by serving dozens of champagne but too bad I am a beer drinker. Bad experience three) I don’t know if this is part of the show, but seeing a manager in suits constantly scolding to the face of a young Chinese guy in front of the DJ station for 10 minutes isn’t sexy at all.

First time and last time to Shanghai Cirque.

Amazing! Surreal

Cirque Le soir has events most evenings. There is a cover charge - but well worth it. It might be strange at first but the staff (dancers) create a beautiful and festive 'vibe' and seemed to interact a lot with the patrons (mere mortals)! I wanted to spend every night here - it was really amazing.
The dancers (performers) and DJ were incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Creepy but gets better
Oct 2014 • Friends
We got in at 11pm with almost no people at first but its after midnight that the ambience and atmosphere started to improve. There were a few acts acc to the circus theme.
Overall a decent place and worth checking out.

Creepy but cool

The pretty lady at the entrance can be a bit nasty if you are not dressed properly and didn't make a reservation, but then if you get in it is not only fancy people, but just normal dressed folks as well. So not sure what's up with their door policy, the club probably tries to be posh but can't succeed. Inside it is quite cool, it looks like a scary circus, you can get your face painted and buy popcorn and stuff. The music is quite good, the prices for drinks western. Nice place to have a different clubbing experience.

Do check here out after you get drunk.

The place is is one of the new clubs in China, locating on the Bund of Shanghai.

It's quite interesting and stuffed when they throw themed parties, selling show tickets and having strict dressing codes.

But it quickly gets boring on weekdays, very little show and very few customs.

More than a night club
Jun 2014 • Friends
I liked the concept of adding some non-conventional entertainment to the usual night out with dancing and drinking. At first everything seemed a bit scary and overwhelming but it is actually a beautifully designed place with people really working on bringing some fun to their guests. The shows are interesting and distracting in a good way, oh and the costumes are brilliant. These guys also have a healthy sense of humor, anyway the club is worth visiting if you are looking for something else, something new. It is located on the Bund, easy to find and the building itself is just wonderful with some pieces of antique furniture in the hall.

Interesting Night Out...Entertaining
May 2014 • Friends
If you've been to the other Cirques (London & Dubai), then you will understand the concept of this club. It isn't like any other club in many ways and that's what makes it more exciting. There are dancers, clowns, acrobatics, popcorn, and many other fascinating shows to experience. The music was great initially and then had changed to some old school stuff which was a little nostalgic but nevertheless fun tunes to dance to!
If you go to this club, don't expect to have any sort of budget as the prices are relatively high! However, when buying bottles, there is sort of a grand entrance which makes it all the more fun to order those types of drinks. Although this concept is famous in London, that craze hasn't yet hit the Shanghai locals so you may feel that the venue is a little empty at first, however don't let that stop you from visiting this club. Fun night out, great music...awesome shows!!

Just a club
May 2014 • Friends
I haven't been to many clubs in Shanghai, but they seem to be for those who like to splash their cash and to be seen. This place is perfect if you're one of those people. They even light up the sparklers every time you order an expensive bottle. Music was commercial, but fun.
