A large shopping mall on Pudong New District. When you walk up the ramp to the entrance, it doesn't seem big. Only when you get inside do you realize it's huge. And expensive enough. Most boutiques position themselves as high-end stores for the affluent segment of customers. The only place where people eat is where phones are sold. All the other boutiques can't boast about customers.

This is a mall housing high-end fashion brands such as Prada, Hermes, D&G, etc. (that said, will also find mid-range brands such as Muji). For the ladies, this is also a good place to find popular cosmetic brands. There is also an uniquely designed Apple store attached to it.
My primary reason for coming is for the eateries. They offer a very wide range of cuisines, from steakhouses (Morton’s), seafood restaurants (Jumbo), Shanghainese cuisine (Lao Ji Shi), cantonese cuisine (Lei Garden, Zheng Dou) to burger joints (Shake Shack).
There is also a viewing gallery on the rooftop 5th where you can admire the skyscrapers that are hugging the skies in the Lujiajui area.

The IFC Mall is a 6-storey luxury shopping mall of over 110,000sqm that provide a spectrum of up-market retail offerings to top-tier international luxury brands. Boutique stores of international brands, culinary delights and also a premier cinema complex.
With its stunning glass facade glittering among the modernity that defines Lujiazui, the area where the mall is situated, it's a good place to shop for luxury brands, including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, Gucci, and Cartier etc. It is also home to Apple’s second largest flagship store in China.

Clearly, there is a lot of expendable income in the Chinese domestic market, and this luxury brand shopping mall has eyes only for the yuan, rather than the dollar. When my wife and I visited, we were not made to feel welcome at all. Being on holiday, I was dressed in jeans and a polo shirt, and so perhaps didn't look like their usual clientele. However, we were actually looking to buy…
My wife asked to see some cufflinks at Cartier, and was told that Cartier does not sell cuff links (this is patently untrue).
I went to Prada, as my wife wants one of their handbags. On entering the store, a security guard immediately started tailing me, standing close to me throughout my time in the shop. I looked at a number of handbags, all the while looking around at the multiple staff members not doing anything, hoping that one of them would approach me for assistance. They didn't, so I left.
While two stores out of the many they have there doesn't necessarily mean they are all like that, it made for a poor impression, so we didn't venture much further.

Clean and bright, airy and light, hours of the day simply melt away in a wondrous whirl of window shopping -- or actual spending. There are food outlets aplenty with prices ranging from single digit to three and beyond. For those who like to plan their path, store directories are displayed throughout the mall:

This mall sits right next to the super brands mall. A comparison to follow.
First impressions are "Ohhh... Shiny..." So I adventured through the mall just to see what all was there. The top levels hosted many high end stores, like Cartier, Tiffany's, and a number of clothing boutiques that were to say the least, not rack stores. Plus some really nice and fancy restaurants like Morton's Steak House. Lots of places where you can really enjoy thinking about how nice I would look in that suit, or wearing that shirt, but reality quickly sets in and you realize that on a mere engineer's income, that would be a treat best served for your birthday or a holiday.
Then I went below ground, down the escalator, past the floor that did not have a railing to see the floors below it. What was down there? Seemingly a completely different mall. Stores like CK, Crocs, Columbia, New Balance and a big grocery store. Stores that I might actually be able to afford without risking breaking the bank. There was also a Starbucks, a Godiva and a food court. Dining options I could get away with on an expense report.
But as you look around at these stores, in the commoner section of the mall, you quickly realize that these are the exact same stores you can find at the Super Brands Mall right next door, but that mall had many other stores to go with it.
All in all, a great mall for window shopping, or treating yourself to something nice because you just got that promotion, but not a place I would go to regularly shop.

Really nice mall to walk around and pass time, but prices are high as it is a high-end mall.
It's easy to reach by metro, you can take the train to Lujiazui station and use exit one. You can walk along the walkway and see views of the Oriental Pearl Tower from the bridge. You can just take an escalating down to the mall. It is easy to see, and is next to the Super Brand Mall.

Bring you wallet/purse when you come to this mall... Or if you have impulse problems like me, don't ! you will spend more than you should!
