I loved it because Line 8 to Qufu Road metro station, Exit 1, took me straight into the Joy City Mall!!! Convenient and good to visit when it is a rainy day like today. Joy City is pretty cool too but it can be quite confusing as it has a North side and a South side. No worries, you’ll get used to it! Plenty of great restaurants. Lots of boutiques. No supermarket. Ferris wheel on the rooftop. There’s a craft floor and Neon shops that looks like Japan. Just explore around. Exciting place to be.

When I first went into this mall from the subway, I was very confused. It felt dark, small, many stores seem closed. I was not impressed. However the trick is to either get above the first 3 floors, or better, go to the 6-9 floors of the south tower (subway is in north). There is a ridiculous amount of good food on the super floors. There are hands on crafts and crafting markets. A huge anime model store, multiple ip star anime cafes. Two pet cafes (one of just ragdoll cats, one of any sort of pet), you pay and go in to play with the animals. We did go to the skyring floor, there are many western restaurants up there, but it was raining so we didn't stay. Entrance to the ferris wheel is on the floor below.

Joy City Shopping Mall is right at Qufu subway station. It is divided into South and North sections. Shop mix is interesting, besides the usual fashion retailers, the mall is also splattered with unique brands with handicraft shops on the 6th level where one can have hands on with those craft (leather bag making, knitting etc). However, despite their interesting shop mix, I went on a weekday afternoon and the mall was virtually empty and the vibrancy was lacking. There was a large Xiaomi Flagship Store there which saved the day for me. :)

From skyring you can see almost all city, but the best time to visit is in the evening. After you can enjoy very nice coffee at the roof of the building

You can take your pick of Asian malls as like American ones they're all very similar to each other. Unlike the high end ones, which speaks for itself. Yes, I know they have a ferris wheel but if u wanna have a birds eye view of excavation building sites then be my guest. If you must go then at least go after dark as the wheel is lit, looks less drab and at least the skyline is somewhat photogenic.
