Top ways to experience nearby attractions

The area
Neighborhood: Century Park
Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle down and stop living in the cramped confines of a refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park are some of the most desirable as they are in close proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw, it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports fields tucked into one of its corners, but five-star hotels, museums and great malls make life in the Century Park area easy for the homesick foreigner. And if living in a Western bubble in China isn’t your thing, there is plenty of local flavor to be had in between the major development. Some of Lujiazui’s futurism can also be seen in buildings and sculptures throughout the neighborhood as well.

Spacious. Lots of wonderful restaurants, bakeries and cafes. Not many boutiques around. A huge Uniqlo is here. Outdoor activities are here. There’s even a church behind the plaza. I guess this plaza is most convenient for residents around here. Huge Carrefour here too.

Thumb Plaza is a useful shopping centre for those in the area. It has a variety of restaurants, shops and a newly revamped Carrefour.

You may find here a lot of places with non local food.
Nothing different than other places.

Look somewhere else for local food.

The Thumb Plaza has of course a few big thumb sculpture. Its a very packed shopping centre with lots of restaurants, banks, KTV, shops, spas etc. It has a big selection of Chinese and western restaurants. I also had a good foot massage in the spa there. best of all, its next to my hotel - Radisson Blue Pudong.

Awesome location to visit to get some food, have a drink or get some groceries. There are so many good restaurants that I don't remember them all but worth the trip if you are staying close.

There are a multitude of places to eat including a great hotpot place (Lai Chao Wang) on the right side of the plaza entrance from which we entered. You'll see the sign it has a steer head on it with.

So when we came here we though it was one of those many shopping centers but it's actually very western in flavour. There is a Carrefour; KFC; Pizza Hut. They had loads of Japanese restaurants; a Korean and maybe a spattering of local restaurant as well. There was a playground for the kids - about $20 for an obstacle course. Also there were a lot of expatriates seemingly wondering around getting their shopping done as well. Nice for a bit of every day life.
