My kids - ages 7 and 4 years old - enjoyed the ice rink. It was not crowded. Price is RMB 75 for two hours of skate time. This was a good way to spend an afternoon with kids.

If you're already on the East Nanjing Road, pop in just to see the huge ceiling screens and weird escalators. There are great shops, restaurant area and a supermarket with a lot of imported stuff.

On a recent visit to Shanghai, I visited the New World Plazza, but really didn't enjoy the experience. It's absolutely huge, on many levels (11+ I think?), all connected by a confusing web of escalators and the world's slowest lifts. Each floor is a maze...More
