Very convenient. Take the metro to Zongshan Park Line 2, 3 or 4. Take Exit 2 and you will find yourself inside the mall. Lots of restaurants on every floor, especially the top 3, mostly Chinese. Carrefour is here as well. Lots of great shopping brands are here too.

For the last 2 years I've lived across the street from this mall, so I go there 2-3 times a week. Shanghai has many flashy "grand" shopping malls, but this one is one of the busiest, if not THE busiest! The reason is its location.

Shanghai residents don't shop at Nanjing West Rd or Nanjing East Rd. They shop at places that offer easy gateway access to the neighborhoods where they live, first, and work, second. And this mall next to Zhongshan Park offers exactly that, with the Metro stations 2, 3 and 4 directly underneath that take you to the "local" areas of Changning, Hongqiao, Putuo.
What this means is that from 5 pm to 8 pm on workdays, plus on most weekends, you cannot easily walk the basement floor (where the Metro connects) and the 1st floor, due to the MASSES of commuters/shoppers there (remember, if Shanghai has 20-25 million people, probably half live in those 3 districts I mentioned above).

The highlights of the mall are the adjacent Renaissance Shanghai hotel (a landmark tower in Shanghai) and the Carrefour store. The Carrefour is huge (2 levels) and offers a great selection of imported food at very reasonable prices.

Floors 2-5 are primarily clothing/accessories/cosmetics stores and floors 6-8 are where the restaurants are. The cuisine here is distinctly Chinese, don't expect any great Western steakhouse here. However, you can find all the famous Chinese cuisine here, from Xinjiang to Hunan, at reasonable prices. Expect lines at most restaurants from 5-7 pm.

On Floor 9 are the movie theaters, with afternoon and late evening discount tickets, BUT, make sure the specific showing you want to see has English subtitles! (not a given in China, trust me).

Side-note: the other busiest malls in Shanghai, by my own experience, are: Raffles City (across People's Square), Super Brand mall (in Lujiazui) and Metro City (in Xujiahui).

A very busy mall with mostly western stores. The few places I walked into had prices far higher than I am used to in the U.S. During the summer, the mall can use a bit more air conditioning.

This mall is located above Zhongshan Park subway station and is accessible on lines 2, 3, and 4.

This very large mall has just about every shop or service you could need. From a Carrefour to a H&M, from a cinema to a food court.

Having said that, there are malls exactly the same all over Shanghai, so there is no need to go out of your way to visit this one.

The good points about this mall on a rainy day , it is attached to the metro station, lots of food outlets and a great supermarket downstairs .
The bad points, it is one of the most boring malls I have ever been in, floor after floor of shops with no one buying anything .
Go just for the food and to get out of the rain
On line 2, Zhongshan Park, the exit is where you see the food hall that's the ground floor of the mall

Nine floors of shopping and food complex.

Two lower floors of wide assortments local fast food, bakeries and eateries.

Carrefour and Starbucks are also there.

Three floors from 7th to 9th floor, offers a wide variety of local restaurants.

Be warned that some of the queuing is between one to three hours! Sitting chairs are provided (some supply titbits and drinks for the waiting queue.

Tried two of the restaurants - superb!!!
Value for money and not expensive!
One had a girl playing music on a traditional local musical instrument.

Waiters and waitresses dress in the old
Traditional outfits.

Food served is quite fast and efficient.

Service is excellent in both restaurants.

Observe restaurants with long queuing! That's where the good food are!

I always like to visit Carrefour in China as it has everything I need. The mall is linked to metro lines 2/3 by a bridge walkway that takes you to 2F of the mall. Carrefour is on two levels in basement area. Good range of food and electronics. The rest of the mall is huge.

9 floors hence the name of it and each floor caters for specific things i.e. jewelry on first floor, sports wear on 2nd or 3rd floor, kids stuff on another floor, restaurants on 7th floor etc. There is a cinema on the 9th floor. In the basement are all the fast food places like KFC Burger King McDonalds and Carrefour supermarket and a metro station. Car park also underneath - 6 RMB per hour or two hours free if you use Carrefour.
