We did the full day experience- starting in the morning on The Bund and then finished in the evening in the FFC. I would definitely suggest this style. Didier has exceptional knowledge, is a fantastic host (never a dull moment) and I felt like he really listened to what we wanted and delivered an exceptional tour. He managed to cater for two very different needs- I was interested in the more gritty unique side of Shanghai whereas the other person wanted a more traditional view of Shanghai (in particular art deco and French heritage). He took to us to places that we would never have seen and I feel very fortunate that I have seen an aspect of the city that is hidden to most. He is clearly extremely knowledgeable and loves what he does- this comes across because he is enthusiastic and you get the sense that he is exploring with you. He also is able to speak to locals and this works extremely well- especially when dining at local restaurants and again I do not believe I would have had the confidence to do this by myself. The tour ended with a beer on a great street and we both went home afterwards feeling lucky to have met Didier and seen such a vibrant and unseen aspect of Shanghai. It was a highlight of our trip and I would recommend it to new comers to the city and I suspect people who already live here.

Didier is a wonderfull guide in Shanghai - he knows a lot about the city but also about Chinese people, Shanghai story and Art Deco history in Shanghai - an unforgettable moment which made me sad to leave Shanghai at the end of the week....

We arranged a full day with Didier who met us at 10am and entertained us until 5pm. it was a fantastic day. Didier is very knowledgeable about many aspects of life in Shanghai - history, architecture, food and customs. We got access to places that others might never see - at the Peace Hotel Didier took us up to the ballroom. We gate-crashed wedding rehearsals in the Waldorf Astoria so he could show us the art-deco lights and décor. We had lunch in a small tea rooms that we would never have found on our own. He even managed to get us across to the Jewish refugee memorial. the day was great fun - Didier was a great host for our first visit to Shanghai.

Didier organised a great tour for friends visiting us in Shanghai who are big fans of Art Deco. He took us to more well-known and some hidden gems and gave us masses of information and anecdotes on each one. He was very flexible and adapted the tour to our needs both before and during the day. We had a marvellous afternoon and would 100% recommend this tour to Deco lovers everywhere.
He also arranged and coordinated a complicated team building session for my company involving five groups, each on a treasure hunt in a different part of Shanghai. It was well organised, informative and, most of all, a lot of fun. The majority of my Shanghainese colleagues were amazed and impressed by what they learned about their home city.
A great experience both times, thank you Didier!

We asked Didier to take our guests from our son's bar-mitzvah in the Ohel Moshe synagogue for this tour, talking about the history of Jewish legacy in Shanghai, so we went from emotion from the refugees to the glamorous lives of the Sassoons, Kadoories. Didier was warned most the audience was quite knowledgeable already about the subject so he made additional research and gave his great touch to make this time a tribute to this legacy, exactly what we wanted to deliver to our guests. Un grand merci Didier !

I spent the afternoon with Dideir leading me on a tour of Shanghai's French Concession neighborhood. I have traveled to many cities in the world and I have had many tour guides. I can honestly say that Didier is one of the best. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the architecture of the neighborhood and had great historical pictures on his IPAD to share with me. He took me to many places I would never have been able to visit on ,y own. And he is very well informed about Shanghai in general. He has a great appreciation for Shanghai and shares his love for the city. I didn't want the tour to end.

Fantastic shanghai, thanks to dear Didier
For me when I want to explore a new place, that’s not only the place matters, but also the people who accompany you during the trip. That’s also the reason I really appreciate this fantastic trip with Didier. He really gave us an insightful guide of shanghai including many stories, many interesting old places… The whole trip is like I took a time machine to go back to OLD SHANGHAI in 30s…
For the people who really want to feel the authentic shanghai, I highly recommend him.

If you want to have an inside view from Shanghai and share Shanghai way of life with true Shanghainese, China World Explorers will fulfill all your expectations.
We really enjoyed early morning Taichi in the parks and learning Shanghainese cuisine from the locals.
Away from the usual crowdy touristic places, China World Explorers enabled us to grab some of the Authentic Shanghai and better understand Chinese culture in a friendly atmosphere.

We visited Beijing, Li Jiang, Shangri La, Yangtze River and Xi'an. All of the guides in each city were knowledgeable and polite and conscientious. In the past we have taken cruises so this was quite different. We had a great time and the guides were such a great help in a country where we don't speak the language or know our way around. Planning this trip was so easy, at least for me. Making late changes was easy too. We added Xi'an and the Terra Cotta Warriors later on. We can't recommend China Culture Tours highly enough.

During a professionnal trip, I visited Shanghai with Didier. The friday evening to visit the bund where we entered many buildings in which I'd never been alone. The sunday to visit the Yuyuan garden, the old town and the French concession. We ate together at a Chinese restaurant where he chooses local dishes for me (very good).
His good humor, explanations and history of the city, the discovery of people helped me discover a culture during my first trip to China.
Don't hesitate to contact him.
Thanks a lot again Didier and see you next time in China.
