Xintiandi is a convenient area of Shanghai to get to. The restaurants are delicious (including the Shake Shack) and the shopping is also quite good. It is a nice place to grab a drink at night or just walk around with your friends. The architecture...More

A surprising little location, although don't rely on Google maps to take you to the best part. Lots of galleries and restaurants and a nice village feel. Well worth the visit.

Xintiandi is the most successful replica of an old Shanghai street and has been copied (even by name) all over China. Non of the buildings is original - all have been built according to plans of an international architects group with old houses material. Nevertheless...More

Xintiandi is gorgeous and it has a lot going for it in terms of worldly food and attractiveness. However, it is a very real tourist trap and many "pros" work the area regularly. Keep an eye/hand on your pockets and don't follow anyone off the...More

Especially loved the commercial area made of brick buildings where you can find our small alley ways for quick old-meets-new photo shoots.. Wish we could have seen more of the old French concession area!

Old style houses illustrate the old Shanghai. The architecture is great. Now Xintiandi has great restaurants of all varieties and its a great place to stroll in tranquility - quite different from busy Shanghai

This is the place to be when you’re hungry and thirsty! There’s a wide variety of restaurants around the area and there’s also a few bars scattered in for good measure. We ended up and Ding Tai Fung in the shopping centre, but that was...More

The refurbishment of a block of old shikumen into a
carless entertainment center called Xintiandi, filled
with restaurants, shops and bars, turned this area
below South Huangpi Road into one of Shanghai’s most
fashionable areas. Luxe condos house people who can
afford the high-end brands that fill the malls and
shops along Madang Road. The pleasant Taipinghu Park
provides the area with green space and is also home to

Two really good hotels nearby - Andaz and Langham. There is also a Holidypay Inn in the Jiading District but this is a bit farther away.
