The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

Very busy river action and wonderful architecture to enjoy. Can be crowded and there are some street vendors that can be a bit annoying, but all in all a nice stroll. I was advised to avoid the "dinner cruise boats" that leave from the riverside...More

this was a wide promenade where you could walk along, there were little stalls that did try and sell you things, great to look out on the river.

Very crowded but worth it as the view is stunning, even better at night. You have e vie of all iconic buildings and the river twisting around it.

This is a great place to spend the afternoon. It is near the financial district and has great views. There are a bunch of cafes and restaurants here.

A fun, but crowded stroll from Yu Yuan area up to the Bund. It is difficult to see the river as boats block most of the view. It's fun noticing how the buildings in Pudong seem to change as you move along the Promenade and...More

It is a good walk alongside the river. See all the new buildings at the Waterfront. Cross the river (metro) and see the old classy front of beautiful Shanghai.

We had a gorgeous, sunny day - not too hot - to walk along the Riverside Promenade, crowded with locals and domestic and foreign tourists. It was sheer fun to watch the kids and families together, and occasionally, to be asked to be photographed with...More

The two things are completely different. The promenade is a nice place for a stroll or walk. Just have a nice time taking in the sights and enjoying the view.
