As part of our visit to Shanghai, Miki who is the owner and tour coordinator arranged us a unique tour to Tongli, the ancient water village in Suzhou and the tranquil water village Jinze where they are not that touristy. We truly enjoyed the very delicious home cooked style lunch with 10 courses, experiencing Tea ceremony and making dumplings class.... More

We were very lucky to have a wonderful day out with Miki. We went on the day tour to Tong Li, and cannot recommend Miki enough for her friendliness, knowledge and attention to detail. A special highlight was visiting her own tea house for an amazing 8 course lunch and tea ceremony.

We struggled on the first day finding our way around the various sites we wanted to visit in Shanghai and therefore decided to go with Miki tours given their excellent reviews on trip advisor. Despite the short notice, Miki tours responded to our email very quickly and arranged a tour for us in less than 24 hours. Our guide Peggy... More

We stayed in Shanghai for 2 days as part of a bigger China tour, and booked Miki Tours for the area. Our guide, Lisa, was very pleasant, got along very well with the kids, was full of details and facts about the area, and was fun to be with. We had good local food, visited all the places we wanted... More

I have been fortunate enough to travel the world over the past 20 years. During these years, my guess is I have secured over 30 private guides. Without question, Peggy and Miki were the most outstanding private guides in every category I can think of. Wonderful personalities, perfect english, insightful, knowledgeable, and quite humorous. Part of our itinerary was visiting... More

Being that this was our second trip to Shanghai, we wanted to experience something different as a part of this visit..... Meet Miki Tours.... I found this company on Trip Advisor and made arrangements for a day trip that seemed like it would be something unique and memorable, and Miki did not disappoint, what a great day! We left Shanghai... More

As a last minute decision, I sent an email at 11pm the night before I wanted to take a tour. I got a response back that evening with a suggestion of what tour was available and that I could share it with another tourist. So it was just the 2 of us with our guide. Very informative, relaxed and comfortable... More

THE SHORT: Miki Tours was an amazing, memorable and efficient way to see the culture and sites in Shanghai. Peggy was wonderful! Highly recommended. THE LONG: I came across Miki Tours on Trip Advisor, because after one day of solo travel, I found Shanghai a bit more difficult to navigate than other cities and needed some help! The process started... More

We took a full day tour in Shanghai and a day tour to the water town of Shongli. Both were great. Different guides, both of whom were excellent (in fact, two guides for the three of us to Shongli!). Shongli is a much less crowded town than the more commonly visited water towns. The Shanghai tour was tailored to what... More

I can't say enough good things about the tour that we had with Miki. Our tour started with Miki picking us up from the lobby of the Disneyland Hotel, where we were taken to Tongli Water Village by private car. This is a beautiful water village that was not as overly crowded as other similar villages that I have visited... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
