Neighborhood: Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have quiet cafes and independent boutiques.

We were originally going to a different acrobatic show recommended by our tour company but our private guide for the day said we should swap to this venue as newer and more exciting and has had better views from customers she has dealt with. So we did and were not disappointed, however we paid more for the tickets than we were originally quoted and it ended up being very expensive so just make sure about that before going. It has a circular stage so everyone gets a good view and some of the acts really are quite dangerous. Definitely recommend.

This is a must do activity in Shanghai. The level of all the performances are some of the best around and all done with high professionalism, but with a clear focus also on safety. Personally the “Fidget Spinner” acts was best, but can strongly recommend all.

And it was really a pity we were not allowed to take pictures of this show.
Some of it was absolutely STUNNING.

Its is definitely a show of acrobatics mixing traditional Chinese exercises like dishes on sticks or pure strength gymnastic exercises but also bicycles and even motorbikes spinning in an extremely tight cage leaving you terrified they might crash one on each other.

The very first part was unbelievable with those little girls riding bicycles so close one to each other and standing in impossible postures. They just pulled enthusiastic but also fearful shouts and waows from all the audience.

We were part of an organized tour and we had several options to choose between for an evening show.
We all had seen here or there Chinese acrobatic shows on TV before so we were not that thrilled to go to this show, some of us preferred the Kung Fu Shao Lin for instance.
We Actually followed our guide, Duddi Tzion, strong recommendation.

He was right !

This show is awesome !

You won't regret it.

Purchased tickets for zone A and was positioned in the even section (upstairs) Row 1 seat 22. Tickets cost 390rmb ($60 AUD) each. The seating was not the most expensive but we were located directly in front of the stage about half way to the back of the seating, pretty good seats really.
The initial act with the girls on the bicycles was amazing as was the final act with the 7 or 8 motor bikes in a cage of death. The rest of the show was a blur but it was certainly an amazing show, well worth the money.
I highly recommend this show.

We've been to the ERA show 5 times. It's one of our favorite things to do with visitors. I won't ruin the surprise, only to say that the ending is worth the entire show. We bought the most expensive tickets the first 2 times. But since then, we've bought the cheaper tickets and found the view is great from almost any seat since the theatre is pretty small. Enjoy!

I visited here as part of a 32-day solo holiday with China Private Tours.
This is an absolute necessity if you’re in Shanghai. It’s Cirque on adrenaline. Truly fantastic and quite tense as well. The acts are sometimes literally death-defying and on 3 occasions during the show I attended, the crowd gasped when it seemed like disaster would strike. Fortunately there were no unintended accidents but they sure take some risks. The talent and strength on display are amazing and you’re left wondering how the performers can possibly be doing what they’re doing. It certainly is a testament to their dedication that they back up night after night. There are no bad seats in the house but sitting closer to the stage, while more expensive, really does get you closer to the action. Every act is a highlight. Each individual spectator will have their favourite part. I really liked the guy who went from the splits to upright in one smooth action. There are no dull bits and the acts are all different so nothing seems repetitive. There are no negatives to this show. This was my last night in China and I certainly went out with a bang. Magnificent!

We bought the 300RMB tickets through our hotel. Were great seats. The show was super fun - as good a quality of performance and daring as a Cirque Du Soleil show (we have seen many). I would definitely recommend. There is little food in the direct area and very limited selection inside the show (and a bit pricey even for water) - So I would eat dinner before you get there. Was super easy to get to off of the metro - LIne 1 Shanghai Circus World Stop. Show lasts 100 minutes.

This show is definitely a must see when in Shanghai. I have seen Cirque De Soleil , and this one beats it by far. The show is well put together, the skills of the performers amazing , their energy when out there tireless and the different acts all amazing in their own way. You have the breathtaking ones too, like the bikes in the cage and in another when the performers get onto the big revolving wheel. One of the final acts involving one male and one female swinging suspended by sheets is both touching and dramatic. One of my favourite acts. Like I said a definite must see.

We saw the Shanghai Circus World - ERA time show today and it was excellent. There are truly some stunts which make your heart skip. Even after seeing the show acrobatics show in Beijing, we enjoyed this show as there were many different acts. Hats off to all the artists for putting this together. So highly recommended for everyone to see. The location is accessible by Subway line 1 as there is a Shanghai Circus Stop, you need to take the exit 3. Overall it started at 7:30 and ended around 9:10 with a 10 minute break. Our hotel was able to book us the tickets.
