Too late 😔
Apr 2021 • Couples
Too late for tulips 😔😔😔 but the park is pretty. Gotta come early next year!!! It was an enjoyable visit anyhow. Park was serene and plenty of food trucks/food stations to stop and have coffee or ice cream and just enjoy the atmosphere. Pity we missed the tulips!

Too good....worth an early morning wakeup
Jun 2018 • Friends
I was staying at Marriott Park view which is opposite Daning Park. Spent one of Sunday morning at the park. The experience was worth the visit. People of all age groups were enjoying with their family and friends. There a small lake with artificial beach near the exit. There is a windmill with lush yellow fields surrounding it. There are small bridges at multiple crossings to the lake. Good security with police pockets present at diff locations.

Very nice park with pond

A large park in Shanghai. Came here in the early morning and there were already many people jogging and doing tai chi in the park. The sun rises very early in Shanghai. There are many areas of the park including a rose garden, a large pond with a sandy beach, a bamboo grove, a maple tree-lined walk, and more. The star attraction is the tulip garden, but of course those only bloom part of the year, in early to mid-spring I believe. I am not sure I would go out of my way to see this park, but if you are within walking distance of the park, it is definitely worth checking out.

One of the nicest parks in Shanghai.

The park was a real surprise. Big and spacious and it currently just finished a Tulip display within the park.

Even though parts of the park are under construction, there was still ample to see within the park and plenty of opportunity for walking.

Locals were fishing, there is chance to hire a boat and cruise the lake or just simple play in the sand on the man made beach which was a real surprise.

Very easy to find. Take line 1 and exit at Shanghai Circus World and it will be a place I will go back to over the upcoming summer period.

Afterwards there are plenty of food options at Daning International Commercial Plaza.

A pleasant way to spend an afternoon

This is a beautiful and well-maintained park poplar with Chinese families. There is a small beach, paddle boats, and several miles of trails among the trees and flowers. Follow the trails to see where they go and what you can see. Admission is only 5 CNY for foreigners.

Huge park with a great tulip display
Apr 2016 • Couples
We were taken to the park at around 5.00pm as we had been visiting a local school and were then going to the restaurant at the park. Prior to the restaurant we walked around the park and would not have expected to see tulips in Shanghai. The flow of colours was magnificent as good as I have seen in Melbourne, Australia at the tulip farm. It is such a huge park and it was starting to get dark but it was really an amazing sight. We were only there for about 40 minutes but it was certainly well worth the visit. Recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and also recommend the restaurant on the lake - great food and great service.

Nice big park, conveniently located......

We were recommended by local friend to visit this park. We passed by here every morning, on the way to Shanghai Circus World Metro station.
It was about 15mins walk away from where we stayed, & directly opposite Marriot Park View hotel.

It's a big nice park & always very crowded esp during weekends. Most of the visitors were locals. Don't see much tourists. Parks like this offers locals a source of relaxation.

We came early morning but it was very hot. So we did not stay long. But it is worth coming if one loves parks. Nice big ones in particular.

Time to bring out the shades, sunscreen and get moving!

Line 1. Shanghai Circus World. Exit 3.
5 – 10 minute walk from there. Opposite the Marriott hotel.

Entrance fee RMB20 per person. No cost for kids under 1.3m. Keep the ticket stub (map is printed on the reverse). There’s also a big sign/map at the entrance.

Not as massive as Pudong’s Century Park but much bigger than People’s Square or those found in Puxi. I’d recommend starting your day early. It opens at 8am I think but gets crowded from 1pm onwards. Spend about 2 – 3 hours walking around or just lazing around.

We were there for the annual Tulip Fest (Feb/March – mid April). As it’s the end of the season, some of the flowers had already withered but a very pretty sight nonetheless, with every imaginable colour on display!

The Park is separated into various segments and “themes”. Some areas were closed off / hoarded up for renovations but it didn’t disrupt our visit as you can just move on to another area very easily.

I think the local authorities do a good job of changing / rotating some of the plants periodically, so you’ll get different flowers and plants that bloom depending on the season.

Big open spaces where you can indulge in outdoor activities like badminton, throwing a Frisbee etc. Bring a picnic basket, a mat or just a good book and some wine and you’ll love this place when the weather is sunny.

Keep walking and there’s a man-made lake / beach / sand-like area (not very big btw) that’s near the exit point. I think the kids will get a kick out of building sandcastles and parents can relax over a good book as the sand area overlooks a decent sized lake or “beach-like” area. I don’t think you can don a bikini (lol!) but a great way to get some sun or just chill out.

Public toilets were surprisingly clean – but then again, I was there early in the morning at 10am and left by 2pm.

Overall, very clean with vast open spaces so you won’t feel like you’re being hassled if you’re there early. In the evenings, it can double up as a jogging trail as there are lots of “up and down” terrain, ideal if you’re training for a marathon.

I’m heading back in May when the weather thaws out for an outdoor picnic with friends. Just remember to bring your insect repellent, sunblock and shades as the weather heats up.

Tulip flower exhibition at the park
Mar 2016 • Family
Was there today afternoon ..amazing exhibition of Tulip flower in the park. It's huge and is open until April 10th I guess . 20 RMB is the admission fee. Get off at Shanghai circus world on line 1 and take exit3. Due to weekend it was very crowded and I think you can't avoid that unless you go there on weekdays!! Red, yellow, white, purple, pink, .... Lot of flowers.

Really huge. Has two lakes within the park. One small one which also has a restaurant facing it.

The other lake is quite huge occupying almost 50% of the parks area. The Daning Lingshi convention centre is located on the shores of this lake and has a modest capacity to accomodate 500-600 persons.

The park is huge. Good for a nice jog in the morning. The walking track is surrounded by flowering plants making the experience even better.
