Nanyuan Binjiang Park was a great find on a sunny weekday in March. Not too many people - at least not in Shanghai terms - it's a hidden little gem. The highlight was dozens of beautiful, colourful tulips. The park extends around 200m/650ft inland from the Huangpu River. Has a nice lake area and plenty of pathways through a very green urban forest. Kites are being flown nearby too. Getting to Nanyuan Binjian Park without access to a car may be a challenge. It is around 0.5km/0.3mi south from the Luban Road Line 4 Metro station. There were a lot of roadworks underway in the area at the time of this review. Another pain may be the crowds visiting on weekends, especially during spring. During the week was fine, however. Secret recommendation: Take your own snacks and drinks! A bit of pre-planning and this place is well worth a visit!
