Managed to join the French Concession tour on New Year guided by Viola and Shanghai City Tour by Sihao the next day. Joining a free walking tour is always a good starting point to explore a new city.

Viola was full of energy and sharing her knowledge of the city from a Shanghainese poiny of view which is interesting.

Sihao was very friendly and the breaks in between for some food was great.

Yuhui, our walk leader, made us all aware of many interesting facts about this city. Lots of jokes as well. What was not to like ... seeing a cross section of key sites, sampling local food, hearing about local traditions and ending near the old town. Highly recommended. Mike - Sheffield, UK.

We had a great tour with Mary today! She was an expert guide who showed us all the nice places in Shanghais Former French Concession. It was fun listening to her and we enjoyed the private tour with her totally. Thank you very much Mary for the wonderful time and also many thanks to Dinna Sun for the good organization!

I take part in free walking tours all over the world and I was so happy to learn that Shanghai now offers two tours as well! Last week, I took part in both Free Walking Tours (General tour about Shanghai and the French Concession Tour) offered by Kylie.
She is super nice, knows a lot about her city and is happy to share lots of information to give you an idea about Chinese and Shanghai people and their culture. The tours were filled with lots of interesting stops and information. With the duration of 3,5 and 4 hours and length of 6-8km some of the longest tours I have ever taken part in but it's the perfect way to get a glimpse of the buzzing city of Shanghai! I would recommend both tours greatly to friends and family and everyone else!

Like in every big city that I visit for a few days, I also took the Free Walking Tour in Shanghai on my first day (also did the French Concession tour on the 2nd day). As always this is a fantastic way to get to know the basics of the city in a relaxed and friendly way.
Our tour guide Viola was fantastic and shared 100s of important or just funny things about China in general and Shanghai in particular.
These are great folks, offering a warm welcome to the city. I would definitely recommend everyone to take this tour in your first few days in Shanghai.

Signed up for the tour as a first day activity to the city! Both Si Hao and Roger were great at giving us introductions at every pit stop. I especially enjoyed Roger’s quick run through of Shanghai’s history. They were also very resourceful when we asked for some help and recommendations. Pit stops for street food was an excellent idea!!

4+ hrs could be a tad too long for a walking tour in my opinion but one can always leave when one feels like it. Shanghai is a mega mega city. It is practically impossible to explore by foot in a day. So, the tour takes you around only a few of the noteworthy spots. You could always compliment it with a hop on hop off bus or just by metro if you have more days to spare.

This is my first time to Shanghai. The walking tour is 4.5 hrs. Seem long but our tour guide make my time pass quick. She introduce the beginning of Shanghai. Well English and knowledge. She take us a break every 30-45 mins for rest legs and take some photo. Perfect for couple, family or even elderly. YUHUI is the best guide!!!

Our guide Sihao was very knowledgeable about the history of the French Concession. And his friendly demeanor certainly made our walking tour very enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed walking through the old lane houses, having a glimpse of how the local residents actually live.

It was a perfect day to walk as the mild autumn weather was ideal!
