Managed to join the French Concession tour on New Year guided by Viola and Shanghai City Tour by Sihao the next day. Joining a free walking tour is always a good starting point to explore a new city.
Viola was full of energy and sharing her knowledge of the city from a Shanghainese poiny of view which is interesting.
Sihao was very friendly and the breaks in between for some food was great.

Dinna has clearly worked very hard on creating a tour which caters to all. She has a fantastic depth of knowledge covering a broad range of topics which would be of interest to many and very happy to answer questions people may have. The tour goes at a pace suitable for all ages and abilities. Some people may see a 3 hour tour advertised and expect to see a lot more items on the itinerary; the pace of this tour allows for time to be spent at the locations of interest without making anybody feel rushed. It was a lovely way to spend a morning. Thank you.

Dinna is a knowledgeable tour guide and takes the time to took the time to take us to unique places. Trust me, I'm a researcher but still didn't have most of the places she showed us, in my list. Also you'll be taken to couple good food places too 😋 Definitely recommend 👌

So… how to put it! If you go to Shnaghai, this is definitely a must. Dinna is an amazing tour guide that makes you feel the history and the evolution of the city while you wander around the different places of it. As she is very dynamic, the three hours invested in each tour move super quickly and you get to learn a lot from Shanghai.
I did both tours and, since they are somewhat related, I fully recommend doing both, in no particular order. But strongly suggest to do the two of them in order to fully get understand the base of the city.
So yeah, absolutely thankful to Dinna and hope that she keeps doing these tours! If you want to dig a bit more on her tours before doing them, I would go to the official site (freetourschina) and get that slight piece of info that can be a good intro to the tours.

Our experience on the Shanghai walking tour was a blast! Our guide Dinna speaks perfect English, welcomed us with an email the night before, some nice little welcome gifts on the tour, and a big smile on her face all the time. Throughout the four-hour exploration, she expertly navigated through Shanghai's history, modern lifestyle, and local quirks, keeping us fully entertained. The highlight of the tour was undeniably the marriage market, which Dinna explained with fascinating personal stories. We absolutely loved every moment of the tour!

Yuhui, our walk leader, made us all aware of many interesting facts about this city. Lots of jokes as well. What was not to like ... seeing a cross section of key sites, sampling local food, hearing about local traditions and ending near the old town. Highly recommended. Mike - Sheffield, UK.

Taking both their Shanghai City Highlights Tour and the Shanghai French Concession Tour was the best choice made in our trip! The guide Dinna's excellent English and genuine passion for sharing Shanghai's stories made the experiences truly memorable. From the iconic landmarks of the city center to the hidden gems of the French Concession, each tour offered a different but equally captivating view of Shanghai's past and present. The group dynamics were fantastic, with fellow travelers adding to the lively atmosphere. I can't recommend their tours enough!

I had an awesome experience with guide Dinna at Free Tours China in Shanghai! Dinna was extremely lively and brought many interesting facts during the tour. His cheerful energy and in-depth knowledge of the city made the tour not only informative but also a lot of fun. I highly recommend this walking tour for anyone who wants to explore Shanghai in a unique and immersive way!

Very cool, informative, great, fun and interesting walking tour based on tips. Four of hours of great infos and tips about the history of this great city and about some things to do during your stay.
Dinna, the guide and owner, was great and very informative offering a great knowledge of the subject. She works hard to make the tour very interesting.

Our free tour with Dinna in Shanghai was simply delightful. Her expertise and enthusiasm made every moment memorable. i will be visiting Shanghai at the beginning of August and would like to know if you do hotel pick up. We are staying at the Crowne Plaza Pujiang as my husband is going to work for a few weeks.
i will be doing the tour by myself and therefore i would like a pick up.

The tour is conducted for free. They begin the tours at easy to find locations on the metro station line and gather at designated areas. The Concierge at Crowne Plaza would be able to give you directions to the location quite easily.
