We visited Legoland Discovery Centre on Sunday afternoon, expecting to spend a few hours here. Tickets can be bought online via their wechat (170 RMB) or at the door (200 RMB) - they do not offer family tickets or discounted tickets for children, so a trip for two adults and one child came up to 600 RMB. For what it was, we thought it was a little over priced, or at least they should offer discounted tickets for families and children.

The centre itself is on the second floor of a mall called Parkside Plaza (nearest metro is Changfeng Rd line 13), and it is opposite a large park and aquarium. You can buy tickets for both the aquarium and Lego discovery to save money on tickets. The centre is very small but the Lego theme is consistent and well put together. There are three main attractions - a laser shooting game, a ride and a 4D cinema (with regular shows throughout the day).

All attractions were cute and my sister had a lot of fun riding them, there were also two indoor playgrounds, a Lego friends area and an area in which kids can build their own cars and test them out on tracks (lots of fun). There is also a cafe with a wide range of imported and local snacks and drinks.

Overall, our visit was quite sweet but much shorter than intended (we were only there for a couple of hours). We hope in the future they’ll be able to add more activities and add family friendly tickets!

We are a group of 2 adults, 3 elderly and 2 kids (5 year old and 7 year old). The elderly like the Lego display while the kids love the small theme park with 4D movie. It was a Saturday (23 November 2018) when we were there and it was super crowded and quite chaotic, especially at entrance queue. And it was supposed to be off-peak month. Will propose for any family to go during weekday if possible.

Can spend the whole day here and it’s located at a nice mall which you can walk around and have nice meals.

Recommended for those with young kids to visit!

Great place, without several smaller experience zones after each other. It's all very interactive and even for small kids it's a blast. As it's located in the Parkplaza mall, it's easy to get some food afterwards as well.

NOTE: THIS IS CLOSED UNTIL APRIL. We were on our way here yesterday and discovered that they were doing renovations. However, for future reference, here's what we found when we visited last October: Just like anything in Shanghai, peak hours will ruin your experience there. Shanghai is a crowded city and anything worth doing will be crowded. But if you could schedule some time here on a weekday or at least avoid hoilday's you will be pleasantly surprised. It IS a little overpriced for Shanghai - maybe a lot overpriced.... especially since its all advertising for lego.... otherwise we would go all the time as its pretty close to our home. That being said, it is a perfect balance of activities - an interactive ride, an amusement type ride, a 4D theater (no english but if you're going for the story you'll be let down by ANY 4D film), an incredible installation of a Lego Shanghai skyline and city, a play center, and tons of legos to play with. And more.

It was really fun when we were there on Sunday afternoon at around 3pm and basically no queue for everything. It was a complete difference from last time when I visited at 10:30am on a Saturday, when we waited in line for 20-25 mins for the first ride. Probably because it was newly opened then? Takes about two hours to completely ventured inside the center when there is not much queue.

It's like a mini version of Legoland in Malaysia which we visited, and it's indoors so it's nice place to go on a rainy day.

Best for kids that are 3-8 years old. The large playground is only open to those of 1m or taller. Otherwise, all activities are available to young kids. The place is free for kids under 1m tall.

Be prepared to see few kids that are trying to cut the line, or parents/grandparents trying to stand in line for kids and they come join the queue last minute. However, this should be exception case rather than the norm.

Fun activity place located in a shopping center. Not so easy to find but once all is OK. They have "Build and Test" activities, some very basic ride, climbing and a 4D cinema. Entrance fee are RMB 200 per person. They do have a great Lego shop where you find some very impressive items.

LEGOLAND in Shanghai is fun for small children but totally overpriced for that you get. The laser shooting was fun and the Shanghai city display impressive, but the rest was very basic. The 4D show was not too bad. At RMB 200 per person (half the price of a Disneyland ticket) it is completely overpriced.

This place was fantastic, and i wish we had something similar back in Australia!

Although a tad $$, kids can be immersed into the world of LEGO for hours providing a great deal of stuff to keep them well entertained.

There are two rides, interactive stations where kids can can build and test their skills, a great sized playground x 2 (one for small children toddlers and one for older above 120cm), a cinema and Lego shop!

It has a clean onsite cafe, with good comfortable seating , however the cafe does not cater for any food allergies.

In house parties can also be catered for.

Highly recommend a visit for those LEGO enthusiasts including adults 😉

Came here with the young kids. Great exhibits depicting Shanghai in all its glory. Loved the ride where you got to shoot with laser guns from a carriage car. Kids loved the 'Build a Car' station.

Disorganised the centre manager had forgot to register our booking for a large group of kids. The Centre was overcrowded for a week day.
