My children and I went parasailing with Chute for the Skye day before yesterday while on vacation. The girl who answered the phone both times I called was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. Based on her customer service, I decided to use this company for our experience. ($270 for three riders and the photo package). Once you arrive and pay, it is a bit unorganized but we eventually found our way on the correct boat and off we went. When I called, I was told that the boat "captain" would accomodate our request to run parallel to the shore so that our remaining family members could see us parasailing from our condo (Turquoise Place). When I asked the "captain" about taking us by the condos during our 10 minute "flight", he said he couldn't do that because it was dangerous and that he would be taking us straight out about a mile instead. I guess the other 4 boats that continuously rode parallel to the shore that we had watched all week (and who, by the way were riding along the shore with customers flying high while we were doing doughnuts for an hour nowhere near the shore) did not realize that it was unsafe??!! Anyway, during our conversation, the captain had a very cocky attitude, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he was probably tired as it was late afternoon. The captain nor the deckhand ever introduced themselves to the customers, never told us anything about the experience, what to expect, how long it would last, anything. They literally just put our harnesses on and we took off. Keep in mind that you are on a boat with 15 people, likely strangers as it is individual groups of 2 or 3 that will go up each time so a little introduction and "welcome" would have been nice. Another few things worth mentioning is that the captain smoked on his Juul or e-cigarette or whatever that thing was constantly during the trip which I found to be highly unprofessional. There was plenty of wind, so the smell did not bother us, but it was just weird that he kept "hitting" this black cigarette and blowing out huge puffs of smoke. The deck hand was a young girl who gave minimal instruction and who took pictures ($40 for a picture package and you get about 60 images on an SD card---5 of our 60 images were clear and decent, the others were out of focus unfortunately). The deckhand's swimsuit bottoms did not cover her bottom (think, plumbers crack but on a thin, young girl, which was very entertaining for my young sons, but embarassing for me and the other adults on the boat. Again, just lacking the professionalism that one would expect from a business when dealing with the public. Each group is in the air around 10 minutes, which is really ample time, and it is a great experience while up in the air. However, the time on the boat before and after the ride could also contribute to a great overall experience if the captain and deck hands are friendly, entertaining, engaging, and appreciative to the customers for their business. Our boat experience was very poor but it could have so easily been different with a little effort from the staff!! Considering a price tag of $270, I expected far better customer service from the boat staff. I highly recommend parasailing while in Orange Beach, but consider all of your options. Based on our experience, Chute for the Skye does not meet my expectations. The better the service, the better the tips. The company owners should remind their staff of this.

This is our second trip with this company and both times they have been outstanding. My son is special needs and the captain made sure he got to fly both times. He loves it and we love the fact that the company and the captain take care to make sure he has a good time. Thanks Guys!

The girl at the front desk was very rude. Know before you go that you can not take your camera or phone and if you want pictures it cost $35. The pictures are very good and high quality but it was something we didn’t know before we got there.
